Notes
This completely unique trap consumes MP for every shot, creating a rain AOE near your character. It can deal huge amounts of burst damage. However, this trap’s range is very short.

For damage per mana, Rain Maker can exceed Trap of the Vile Spirit, but only if the target is already under Curse. This trap is beaten by the Cave Dweller Trap, but the Cave Dweller Trap only hits 1 target, and spreads its damage over 5 seconds rather than in a single burst. This can be a problem against bosses with Invulnerability phases, as the Cave Dweller’s damage is more likely to be wasted.

This trap synergizes with high DEX and weapons with high firerate. A higher firerate means your MP will drain faster, which means less time for your MP to be wasted by the 30 MP/sec proc. The Thousand Shot in particular can “break” this trap, causing for a bit of extra damage due to how fast your MP drains.

Unlike the Crystal Shield, this trap is affected by The Twilight Gemstone and other mana reduction effects. Combining the Gemstone and the Light Syndicate Attire while shooting with the Thousand Shot bow will deal a whopping 14,000-18,000 damage within its entire lifetime, if and only if most or all the Rain Maker spawned bullets hit the target in a 5-6 second period.

History
Before Exalt Version 4.0.1.0 (Sep 2023), this item provided +5 DEX on equip, had a range of 3.5 tiles, had a slightly smaller radius and slightly longer delay before its rain started, and disabled MP restoration from Pets while active.
