Notes
A sacrifice of 4 defense in exchange for 4 speed has its uses, but any item that compromises bulk should be used with caution. Use of this seal will leave the Paladin with a maxed base defense of 26, making this class squishier than the Warrior, as the Warrior at least gains defense from his ability. Because this item is not good in every situation, it is recommended to have a tiered Seal to use as an alternate item, as the only truly beneficial use for this seal is to prevent oneshots.

There is an emerging playstyle involving this seal in conjunction with equipment items that have ‘proc’ effects which trigger when you get hit. Activating the seal can allow you to deliberately take damage and so trigger a proc effect at a precise time of your choosing. For example triggering the Entropy Reactor to do one of its effects.

If you’re under the effect “Invulnerability” you can still take damage from environmental hazards that damage you, such as Lava, Magma, and Evil Water.

Descriptions in-game may currently bugged, causing Wisdom-affecting equipment to appear to have twice the effect they really do (this effect is only for the descriptions- not the actual result). This page shows the actual formulas, not the ones based off the (possibly incorrect) descriptions.

If worn on a player who already has 0 def, their DEF stat is lowered to -4. They then take 4 more damage per shot than if they aren’t wearing the item.

Trivia

Original testing description was, “When the Gods confront their worst enemies, they arm their Paladins with this seal.”

This seal is often referred to as an “Oreo” by players due to it being similar looking to the Oreo cookie brand.

History

Added in Build 121 (Jan 2012).
There was a bug on the seal which prevented paladins who had it in their inventory from trading with other players. This was fixed in Release 12.5 (Apr 2013).

In Release 25.0.0 (Oct 2014) a small rework saw the item’s stats change from +5 SPD, to -4 DEF, +4 SPD, and Wismod was added to control the duration and range.

Before Release X33.1.0, this item had a Feed Power of 750.

April Fool Version

For April Fool events the sprite gets changed to that of the Chocolate Cream Sandwich Cookie, owing to the ‘Oreo’ nickname of the Seal of Blasphemous Prayer:
