Notes
While it is recommended to have a tiered Seal to use interchangeably, this situational Seal has a comfortable balance between survivability and damage potential in the hands of the right player, being one of very few items that possesses the ability to turn the player invulnerable.
The Seal excels in independant use, where the benefits of a tiered Seal and the ability to increase a groups maximum health, may be less preferable in comparison to turning invulnerable.
Depending on the playstyle of the user, the Seal may be used defensively to prevent oneshots, or offensively, charging into bullets that would otherwise cripple a character and allows them to continue to damage enemies for a short period of time.
Players should be mindful that the effects of the ability are also subject to wismod, meaning the length of the invulnerability can be extended slightly with the right equipment. Ideally, the longer the player can stay invulnerable in a tight situation, the more time is given to the player to make a tactical decision.
There is even an emerging playstyle involving this seal in conjunction with equipment items that have ‘proc’ effects which trigger when you get hit. Activating the seal can allow you to deliberately take damage and so trigger a proc effect at a precise time of your choosing. For example triggering the Entropy Reactor to do one of its effects.
Note that the item is a eminently rare drop, so use with caution as it may be hard to reobtain.
If you’re under the effect Invulnerability you can still take damage from environmental hazards that damage you, such as Lava, Magma, and Evil Water.
Trivia
Original testing description was, “When the Gods confront their worst enemies, they arm their Paladins with this seal.”
This seal is often referred to as “Oreo” by players due to it being similar looking to the Oreo cookie brand.
History
Added in Build 100 (July 2010). There was a bug on the seal which prevented paladins who had it in their inventory from trading with other players. This was fixed in Release 12.5 (Apr 2013).
In Release 25.0.0 (Oct 2014) a small rework saw the item’s stats change from +5 SPD, to -4 DEF, +4 SPD, and Wismod was added to control the duration and range.
Before Patch X.33.1.0 (May 2020), this item had a Feed Power of 750.
Before Exalt Version 1.1.0.0 (Sep 2020), this seal gave -4 DEF and had an invulnerability duration of 1.2s. It has received new WisMod formulas.
For April Fool events the sprite has been changed to that of the Chocolate Cream Sandwich Cookie, owing to the ‘Oreo’ nickname of the Seal of Blasphemous Prayer, Oreo being a brand of chocolate cookie:
