The Shadow Cube Blaster is the first boss of The Third Dimension, accompanied by the Shadow Cube Defender. The Blaster itself is the core of a massive segmented boss that is collectively called the Shadow Cube God, or Shadow Cube Serpent.
The Realm Eye says: |

The Shadow Cube God was born from the Tesseract Goddess’ shadow, functioning as a guardian against those who wished its master harm. Despite being a shadow, it curiously has mass. Upon its destruction, many denizens of the Third Dimension may ascend to a higher dimension, gaining great power in the process. |

The Shadow Cube Blaster is found on an isolated platform, accessible using purple teleporters at the end of the Third Dimension’s paths. Once players teleport onto this platform, the boss will unfurl itself and begin attacking. Players will not be able to leave the platform until the Blaster is defeated.
The boss itself is a massive wormlike enemy that consists of a head segment, a tail segment, and 21 body segments that move in tandem.
The Shadow Cube Defender in the center of the room activates. See Shadow Cube Defender for more info on the Defender.
The Blaster cannot be attacked until the Defender is destroyed. It will move along the edges of the room, frequently cutting across the platform diagonally (which is telegraphed by a fast harmless laser). Both its head and tail segments will frequently fire Slowing stars at players, while the head will also occasionally summon a purple square turret that fires a stream of purple shots to divide the platform in half, signalled beforehand by a low-damage purple square bullet.
When the Defender is at half health, the purple portal will now fire three angled streams instead of one.
Once the Defender is defeated, it will transform into the invincible Shadow Cube Overseer and continue firing Cursing shotguns along the cardinal and diagonal directions. The Blaster continues its previous attack pattern, but its 15 lighter-colored body segments and tail segment will go vulnerable. Once those body segments have been destroyed, the remaining 6 darker segments (which have slightly higher HP) will go vulnerable as well. The battle will progress once all segments besides the head have been killed.
The Shadow Cube Blaster grows a chomping mouth and starts moving along the inner edges of the platform. During this stage, it will alternate between two attack patterns:
Note that the Shadow Cube Overseer will continue attacking during this phase.
When the Cube Blaster is defeated, the Overseer will despawn and a path to the second half of the dungeon will generate. After the Shadow Cube Blaster has been defeated, any enemy that could “square” itself in the first half of the dungeon will be permanently squared in the second half, making them more difficult.
