The Snakepit Guard is located in the Treasure Room of the Snake Pit, a large, long room with a red button at the top. Initially, the room is empty, but when a player stands on the button, traps in the walls will begin rapidly firing darts that inflict Bleeding, and the Snakepit Guard will spawn in the center of the room.
The Guard chases players at a slow pace, firing 3-shot spreads of Snake Spit and rings of Snake Spinners that daze. Every now and then it will fire 3-directional Snake Balls that inflict heavy damage and Daze, with one of them being aimed at the nearest player.
Keep in mind that the traps in the walls will not stop firing upon the Guard’s death.

If you are worried about taking damage from the arrows in the treasure room, lead the Snakepit Guard out of its area into a large and wide space in the snake pit, where you can easily aim at the guard and dodge its bullets.
The Snakepit Guard does not display a health bar even when health bars are on. This is because he is actually just an invisible enemy with no hitbox until he is spawned, similar to Davy Jones. If the healthbar were visible, you would see it before pressing the switch.
