The Spirit of Oryx is an Event Boss that spawns as the final boss of the Oryx Horde Event. It drops the portal to the Mad God Mayhem dungeon at a guaranteed rate.

The Spirit of Oryx will spawn after the Stone Guardians are killed. He will then say:
“My effigy…demolished! I will repair you!”
He then moves to the destroyed statue in the middle of the arena, firing several harmless Dragon Eye Lasers at it. He is vulnerable for a short time during this period. Shortly after, he rebuilds the statue into the Possessed Oryx Statue and attacks.
Throughout the fight, he will spawn various invulnerable, short-lived traps that fire radial status shots.
Taunt: “Rise, my vessel! Aid my assault and we may breach the realm itself!”
The Spirit orbits the Possessed Oryx Statue, firing large X projectiles in a V shape in front of him. He will sometimes switch to firing flurries of small X projectiles that follow a curving path.
He is invulnerable until the Statue is killed.
Taunts: “Agh! I am weakened!”
“Stay away! You must not tamper with the spiritual plane!”
“My host has collapsed, but my spirit remains!”
After the Statue is killed, the Spirit of Oryx will rapidly chase players while firing shotguns of large white bursts. He will also fire lines of skull-like projectiles to the side of him. Once he hits certain HP thresholds, he will switch to Phase 3.
Taunt: “Brute force will not save your pathetic lives now!”
After a bit, he will turn invulnerable and move to the Statue’s death location. Then he will turn vulnerable again and fire 4-directional bursts of multicolored waves that Armor Break and inflict various other debuffs. The waves are fired in a spiralling pattern so that they cannot be dodged by standing still.
If not killed fast enough, he will respawn the Statue and revert to Phase 1.

When the statue spaws, immediately start focusing fire on it until if reaches half health. He does nothing at this phase, so keep shooting until he turns invulnerable, then back away.
If the statue throws a rock in your direction at the second phase, RUN AWAY. If you stand still, you will die. While you are running, however, keep in mind that the green lava from previous smashes will still be there, so you will have to avoid those too.
During the second phase, focus all of your fire onto the statue, as the spirit will still be invulnerable. When you kill the statue, the spirit will move to the middle of the arena and lose his invulnerability. The statue DOES NOT drop loot, so do not waste time trying to find it.
The spirt will then send out waves of colored shields that do armor breaking, darkness, and daze according to their color (final phase). However, these shields do very little damage, so stand your ground and continue firing at him. Don’t waste your time trying to dodge the sticks, except the daze one, which will hinder your damage dealing capabilities. If you don’t do enough damage, the spirit will summon another statue and you’ll have to deal with more ground pounds.
