Notes
The Forgotten Crown (or just Crown) is tied with the Magical Lodestone for the 2nd highest DPS-stat increasing ring. They are only beaten by the Crown’s upgrade, the Chrysalis of Eternity. Chrysalis has more of every stat, but requires beating the hardmode Shatters to acquire.

The Crown gives a decent HP boost, while both it and Lodestone give a powerful +12 to offensive stats. It’s a very simple ring, but the balance of survivability and very strong level of offense makes the Crown a excellent choice for any class.

While an incredibly coveted ring, many easier to acquire alternatives may be situationally stronger:

  • Classes reliant on their abilities (such as those with WisMod: Priest, Sorcerer, Necromancer) will likely prefer a ring that boosts WIS/MP. Examples include the Divine Coronation, Sourcestone, or Omnipotence Ring.

    • The Twilight Gemstone deserves special mention. While lacking HP, it ultimately provides a massive boost to DPS with most burst-damage abilities, even to classes not usually reliant on them.

  • The Collector’s Monocle offers +30 HP and an unbeatable +20 ATT with a practical 100% uptime when Invisible. A straight upgrade for the Rogue, any other leather class can make use of the Turncoat Cape (though it’s unreliable, and they could be using Centaur’s Shielding instead).

  • The Chancellor’s Cranium has superior defense, while its short ranged proc can make up for its weak DPS stats in a unique way. Melee classes can make the most use of it, or for players who otherwise play up close.

  • The Exalted God’s Horn main appeal is its defensive edge (net +30 HP, +5 DEF). And above 90% HP, you’ll gain +10 DEX. While worse than Crown for DPS, low dexterity classes like Knight, Archer/Huntress, and Priest might find comparable damage boosts if they can avoid too much damage.

Nonetheless, the Crown remains as one of the most sought after rings in the game. Not only is it from a very difficult dungeon, but it combines a pretty nice HP boost with a universal and nearly unparalleled DPS boost.
