Notes:
The tome of purification is an excellent tome for any priest. The +7 vit and +7 wis allows you to gain a mix of regeneration of HP and MP. When the tome is used, it restores more than 200 hp (depending on your wisdom stat) and removes all negative effects on yourself and those around you (allowing you to save yourself and your allies plummeting into certain demise). But it’s rather crucial to note that Pet Stasis will not be removed. It will only remove the Pet Stasis icon while your pet remains a stationary chicken. This is most likely a bug, but as of now, it remains unfixed. This item works well when faced against an enemy that can stun, weaken, paralyze, blind, confuse, or inflict any status effect upon you. As for comparing the Tome of Purification with the Tome of Holy Protection and Tome of Holy Guidance, they all have around equal healing power (Due to the wisdom increase, puri has more healing power than Prot or Guidance, but only marginally). The three Tome choices all tend to work best in their own situations. The Tome of Purification is always worth having in your inventory for situations where you run into a swarm of status-effect-inflicting monsters.

This tome is very useful in rushing Mad Labs. Hex oneself by running into the green pools, then rush with the speedy boost. Once you need to use your weapon, purify and wreak havoc. Also very popular in Wine Cellars, by removing the deadly Confuse, Slow, and Sick status effects from you and your allies. However, be aware that you will not be healed if you are inflicted with Sick, as you are healed first, after which the purification effect will occur.

Useful in Shatters. Can be used to save countless amounts of people from the deadly blind + confuse combo. When playing with a priest with Puri in shatters be wary that even though he can remove all of your status effects, he does not have infinite mana; this might be a problem when you are taking many status effect shots in succession. Furthermore, some people know how to abuse confuse (confuse control), and would rather be confused for a set amount of time than sporadically un-confused. Therefore, other tomes are sometimes preferred over the Tome of Purification in the Shatters.

Arguably the most exploitable dungeon for this tome would be The Nest. This would, of course, be because the dungeon’s main boss (the Killer Bee Queen) inflicts all of the following status effects: Confused, Paralyzed, Dazed, Quiet, Armor Broken, and Weak. She does also inflict Pet Stasis, but as you have most likely already read, this tome does not get rid of that. The bullets themselves are fired predictably yet rapidly, so it’s a good idea to take this tome along with you to protect you and your fellow players.

A lot of people are opting for a much more accessible alternative, the Book of Geb. Being tradeable, it can be used for the purification effect too. Although its heal much lower than the other often used tomes, it has many better uses such as WC, where a maxed priest wouldn’t need the heals as much anyways.
