Behavior

Untempered Magic is an intangible entity that appears in one of four random colors when one of the Source Generators in the castle wings are broken. In order to progress, players must free the Untempered Magic, activate the Magi-Conductors throughout the castle to form a pathway for the magic, and then push the Magic to the boss room by having a player stand by it. Untempered Magic from 3 wings are needed in order to activate the boss.

Enemies can “contest” the conductors by standing close to them, causing them to flash red. If a conductor is contested for too long, it will break; if the conductor pathway isn’t repaired fast enough, the Untempered Magic will slowly shrink before exploding violently and resetting to the beginning of the path. A status message will be broadcasted to the GUI of all players to warn them about a contested conductor.

The 4 types of Untempered Magic have slightly different properties and provide different effects:

Untempered Blue Magic

• Grants Energized to all nearby players.
• Periodically fires a double-layered ring of lightning bolts which inflict Paralyzed. One ring is a short-ranged one that rapidly decelerates, while the other has a larger radius.
• If the pathway is broken and not repaired in time, the flame will explode into [?].

Untempered Green Magic

• Unlike the other types of Untempered Magic, the Green variant has 3 smaller flames instead of 1. All 3 flames must be escorted safely to the Central Chamber in order for it to count.
• Each flame moves at a slightly different speed.
• All flames provide Healing to all nearby players.
• If the pathway is broken and not repaired in time, each flame will explode into multi-directional beams of green bolts.

Untempered Red Magic

• Inflicts Bleeding to all nearby players.
• Moves the slowest out of all types of Untempered Magic.
• If the pathway is broken and not repaired in time, the flame will explode into a dense ring of interlocking shots which pierce armor.

Untempered Yellow Magic

• Inflicts Armor Broken to all nearby players.
• Moves the fastest out of all types of Untempered Magic.
• Automatically moves along valid Conductor paths without having to be pushed.
• If the pathway is broken and not repaired in time, the flame will explode into [?].
