The slow attack speed, the big gaps between shots and the easy-to-learn “Bite” pattern makes this enemy not so much of a threat if approached alone, keep in mind that the arc of the thorns depends on the distance between the player and the enemy, so ranged classes are recommended for larger gaps.
Minion projectile speed Modifiers such as “Dull Minions” or “Energized minions” have a drastic effect on this enemy, making the attacks not fully arc or straight up fly pass you respectively.
Amusingly, with said modifiers, the attack pattern sometimes positions you right between the gaps, making standing still an option.
