Chat Settings

Perhaps I am missing something obvious here, but I’d like a way to do the following:

  • See public chat bubbles
  • Hide public chatscroll
  • See pms

I messed with the settings awhile back, and I couldn’t find a way to turn the chat off without also turning off pms.

Allow disabling of private chat without turning off Player Chat as well

I believe you can’t. Chat refers to everything in your chat box, including PMs.

You cannot do that, it says you can but never works. I actually submitted a ticket to Deca on this about a year ago. To-date there has not been an update that addresses this issue. Like you, I would love to hide all chat but PMs (for trading purposes). Just keep your fingers crossed or maybe submit a ticket like I did and if enough players point out the issue they will fix it so that it can be done.
Also it does not work with guild chat either. Once you turn off player chat, both guild chat and PMs are hidden. So for now it is all or nothing.

bingo. Alright well it’s sad that you can’t do this, because usw2 is a nightmare tbh
