Flash Projector 18 Download Link

#1

Hello!

I have a Mac with the latest mac os, and I’m currently using Flash Projector 25 to play realm. However, occasionally I get periodic freezing when some other people don’t have any. I’ve heard that Flash Projector 18 is the best option to play realm with and can help with my issues.
Does anyone have a link to the official download for Flash Projector 18? I’m a tad wary about downloading exe files or mirrors.

Thanks!

[Mod edit: above link appears dead. Here’s a couple working alternatives. -Doc]

A copy has been uploaded here: https://www.datafilehost.com/d/837303d7 (12.36 MB)

Or download an official version from Adobe at https://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/installers/archive/fp_18.0.0.382_archive.zip (190.55 MB)

After downloading open the zip file, then open the “18_0_r0_382” folder, and finally extract the file named “flashplayer18_0r0_382_win_sa.exe”. That last file is the stand alone flash player/projector.

Thank you very much!
Is there any link to an official Adobe page with a flash projector link? It’d just give me peace of mind

Here https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html

The link I just gave you is from here so when you click on it, it will automatically download flash :3

Thank you!

Oh shoot, I have a mac so I can’t use that exe file.

Just use Wine:
https://www.winehq.org

It works pretty good for me, I’m playing RotMG on Arch Linux…

Ok, so I would need to basically bootcamp flash projector

The Mac version is on that page too:

https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html

Where it says Flash Player archives, each link is to an archive which contains all the platforms for that release. There are quite a few in each, as it contains Mac and Windows, release and debug (for developers), plugin and standalone.

When you download the archive decompress it and look for a file that looks like this:

flashplayer_18_sa.dmg

‘18’ being the version. That’s one you want, open it to mount the disk image and it contains just the standalone Flash Projector app which you can copy to your hard drive.

Thanks, but still better to use the official archive page. You can see on it multiple releases for each version. E.g. there is Flash version 18.0.0.382, 18.0.0.375, 18.0.0.366, …

This is as Adobe maintained some of the older versions past their initial release, patching some bugs and security holes. From our experience with ROTMG, later versions are not always better and there may be performance or compatibility reasons to stick with an older version.

So you should download the most recent archive from that page for the release you are interested in. A direct link might be to any version – Adobe does not that I know of advertise them so may not be maintaining them the same way.

Ah I see, I’m just a doofus and missed the archives zips down below.

Which version would be best for mac?
The …mac_pkg.dmg
…mac_sa.dmg
or the …mac.dmg

_sa.dmg is the standalone application, “Flash Player.app”, which is what we call Flash Projector. It’s a Mac disc image so just double click on it to mount it, then drag the .app to e.g. your Applications folder.

You can ignore the other things, which are debug and release versions for all the different platforms Flash supports, as well as an uninstaller for anyone downgrading the plugin to an older version or removing a debug version (as the normal installer only knows how to remove older versions of itself)
