If you can't enter in the game because is stocked at 100% or you have delay

#4

Iā€™ve sometimes noticed improved performance in RotMG when I forget to use CCleaner for a while and eventually do it.

#5

@KillDemonx People tend not to open 7 billion links so here are the images so people can just view them. Do basic users have a limit for pictures?

#6

Thx, is my first post xD

#7

I had the game stock at 100% in mozilla and CCleaner solved itā€¦ It solved my lag too. I hope that this work for someone. Sorry for my english, Iā€™m learning.

#8

Nice, welcome to forums!

#9

:frowning: but butā€¦ I made this post

#10

I did this with ccleaner, and now I can sign on with firefox and chrome, but still not flash projector. Also there is a delay when I press the key (lag) and sometimes it continues in the same direction after letting up the key. Any ideas?

#11

Great first guide!

Keep it up!

#12

Do you smell that?
It smells like the placebo effect.

Clearing up junk on a disc drive can help if its set up to have a cache, which is useless when most of you will have at least 2Gb of ram for a game that uses <1Gb, or if you are running on a SSD.
But deleting unused file extensions (when most of them are re-installed upon boot) that are unrelated to the game itself? How much is that going to effect the game if at all?
This seems like eating vitamin tablets when you have a sore throat.

#13

Hey I do that! :c Vitamin C gives me the vibes, if you know what I mean.

Well, if it solves the problem of the ā€˜100% loading screenā€™, it mustā€™ve done something right? Right?!? (I have no idea what Iā€™m talking about lmao)

lmaoā€¦

#14

Iā€™ve also had this problem occurring sometimes too, and you wanna know what fixed it?

#15

Sometimes that is all it takes, turn off the computer, turn off the router, turn off the modem, then turn it all back on again and crap works. I hate computers but the magic seems to be in the OFF button.

#16

I didnā€™t see that :joy: :joy:

#17

If you have lag with Firefox and chrome you have to use waterfox, with that you wont have delay

#18

If itā€™s the browser that is the bottleneck then you can rid of the browser entirely and use the flash projector.
And if running a browser is causing lag on your computerā€¦ then you have bigger problems.

You canā€™t generalise by saying ALL delays is caused by the browser someone is using.
It could be input delay, which the bottleneck could be either the processor, or the keyboard and mouse themselves.
It could be server delay, which you can chose a server closer to your location or less crowded.
It could be network delay, which is the fault of a bad internet connection.
But running things like CCleaner and changing your browser to a ā€˜fasterā€™ one, are not cure-alls.
You assess problems individually to find the root cause of them in order to find a solution to them.
Using solutions, and then checking if it fixed the problem is what your immune system does to viruses, and it does not always work. Thatā€™s like trying to lockpick a combination lock by trying every single combination.

Well, I can confirm that CCleaner makes a difference.

No subtle change at all.

After my Ninja died due to fatal lag in a Cland I was reccomended to use CCleaner for the first time.

After that the game was so smooth, I had felt nothing like it. I easily got a 6/8 Ninja after that 0/8ā€™s sacrifice.

CCleaner for the first time will have a dramatic impact. After using it anytime afterwards I didnā€™t notice a difference.

A computer with more than one year of use that has not experienced CCleaner will certainly be faster than before.

This is nothing more than Anecdotal evidence.
What better way to see if itā€™s true by searching for ā€œbenchmarks before and after CCleanerā€

First result: http://www.pcworld.com/article/2029460/panacea-or-pariah-five-pc-cleanup-utilities-put-to-the-test.html
"The results donā€™t match the ads" Used benchmark software.

Second result: http://www.howtogeek.com/172820/beginner-geek-what-does-ccleaner-do-and-should-you-use-it/
ā€œEveryone can benefit from occasionally cleaning up their temporary files, so CCleaner is usefulā€ No performance tests done

Third result: ditto

Fourth: https://www.macecraft.com/registry-cleaner-benchmark-study/
ā€œA high quality registry cleaner softwareā€¦ is able to improve general system performance.ā€ Used benchmark software

Fifth: https://www.cnet.com/forums/discussions/comparison-of-some-cleaners-and-optimizers-535800/
ā€œCcleaner (free)
Start time:- 4.1 sec
Shutdowntime: + 0.3 sec
Speed: - 2.9%ā€ Used benchmark software

Sixth: From piriform itself, not included because high possibility of bias.

Seventh: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/registry-cleaner-difference/
ā€œRegistry cleaners offer no perceptible increase in performance.
Registry cleaners can break things.
Even if registry cleaners donā€™t break anything, using one wastes your valuable time and (perhaps) money.ā€

Eighth: http://superuser.com/questions/372109/ccleaner-is-it-just-fud
Top answer: ā€œI donā€™t really think of it as a performance booster and Iā€™m not sure that the developer thinks of it that way either. ā€¦ The primary reason for using CCleaner is to remove the history of what youā€™ve been doing ā€¦ The registry cleaner is a secondary function but if you frequently install and remove software, it can surprise you with how many ā€œdeadā€ registry entries it will find and remove. I donā€™t think this makes a big difference in performanceā€

Ninth: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/34403-63-ccleaner-worthy
Best Answer: ā€œCCleaner isnā€™t a miracle cure. Itā€™s simply a nice tool for tidying up a system. ā€¦ but wiping the free space can improve performance (though the process takes time).ā€

Tenth (last one as Iā€™m not going through 100 pages.): https://forums.anandtech.com/threads/ccleaner-public-service-announcement.2288077/
Is a forum, no clear answer, half says snake oil , half says not.

Iā€™d personally say the first result was the most in depth analysis. It shows all the results that there was no significant difference, but acknowledged that it can help remove stuff if your drives are filled up with junk.
And of course the best way to improve your computers performance is BUYING A BETTER COMPUTER OR UPGRADING YOUR CURRENT COMPONENTS

-Snip-
Whoops didnā€™t realise this was already in tech support section.

#22

Itā€™s about the game soā€¦ xd

#23

Why spend money to improve it when you can do it for free?

If CCleaner works and enhances your computer enough then thatā€™s great, you didnā€™t waste money.

If you arenā€™t satisfied with the improvement you can always spend more money on what youā€™ve said, but IMO if Iā€™ve got great performance that still has room for improvement Iā€™d rather spend that money on RotMG instead of my PC.

I really donā€™t understand why it seems you despise CCleaner so much. It does its job well for free. Surely Iā€™m missing something here.
