So with a year full of amazing updates and fresh content, it’s pretty clear that presumably last update of the year has been released - The winter update.
Going roughly to the start of the year onward, DECA have made significant updates, and really have raised the bar on how game rejuvination should be exectued and most importantly: maintained - something kabam could not sustain ahem
For once, Realm now has a secure and stable future, as of how the development of the game is currently running.
With changes from quality of life, all the way to a new phase of Rotmg gameplay (Endgame galore), its clear the team are working very hard on giving general satisfaction to all players, whether that be new or old.
And if there were be a word to sum it all up, it would be ‘unexpected’ at how much such a small team of people could draw together.
So heres a little recap of all the main things we got from DECA, which could guide us towards a more certain future:
Dungeons
DECA have been very generous to deliver so much content for us to play with - It is actually insane. What Kabam did in over 10 months, DECA could pretty much do in a week. Fresh off the press we have heaps of new dungeons with new mechanics, really testing the players abilities and providing a fresh release from the same old dungeons and adding lot more variety. But whats mostly notable about the dungeons is that more and more endgame type dungeons are popping up, and the complexity of the game is slowly starting to build up - everything you will have learned about the game would be tested in these dungeons, and certainly upon release, they have delivered a very challenging experience, which mainly is for the players who have stuck around longer and actually know how the game works; Lest to say its very charming to see new players give these brutal dungeons a go.
Not only have they provided a new goal for older players, but they have also drawn the community much closer together, and finally have given each character and the roles to really strive and show how important they play in a team. Popping into discord or teamspeak, there are now dedicated servers each for the new endgames - with players all working together to take down dungeons as a team. This, for mainly community dwellers, was something we wanted for a VERY long time. Teamwork.
Interaction with community
DECA has also listened to what the community wants, and made themselfs feel welcomed by everyone after the release from Kabam. Player events and competitions have been popping up left and right, and the community are a lot more drawn together rather than salt and grit. We have even seen the use of social media such as reddit, twitter and facebook all involved in getting the word out to new people, and the attention for realm is starting to climb back up from its grave.
We have seen that DECA really do care about the community, and are not just a bunch of piggy banks hauling out reskins for profit - they have sat down and generally thought about what players want and responding through well contructed updates.
New goals
There are too many goals within Rotmg at this point! It certainly isnt a bad thing, and if anything, it really opens up many more possibilities on what to do with the game rather than batter gods for loot. As previously mentioned, the game is packed with new content (Mainly dungeons), and with that comes the opening of the scope on what to do.
New side-hobbies such as skin-merching, mark hunting and dungeon trains have all been formed together to keep us occupied for more updates to come. I myself have already splashed my life potions on some new skins, so i can be one the most stylish players out there! he he!
Quality of life
If there is something the game has cracked down on - its QOL. DECA have obliterated dupers, multiboxers and notifers, which (mostly) now are a thing of the past. They are combating issue after issue, and making the game much more stable compared to the many flaws back in 2014 onward that led to duping and multiboxing ect.
Aside from bugs, they have gone out of thier ways to introduce more settings and gimicks all in order to make the game feel easier to take in, such as the experimental menu, or even the tutorial for that matter!
And there is so much more i havenet noted!
The game is no longer P2W Heavy, and themed content is now becoming a regular thing within the game!
We can all take our hats off to DECAfor the sheer value of what they have done this year, but as we look back at the past, it can only trace us into a more exiting future!
Who knows what might be added!
Alchemist revamp?
Goblin Lair?
More event chests?
More contests?
Arena revamp?
And most important of them all…
Oryx 3?
The ideas are limitless, and seeing that DECA have even included an area where dungon makers can code actual enemies, this really will build up the anticipation of the game, and what there is to come!
Cheers DECA!
So as for the thread, what do you think / what would you like in the game in 2018?
