Event white classification

#5

My assumption is that a white bag is considered event if it comes from an enemy that is required to close the realm, like herm, penta, cube, etc… (sentry and bees used to be needed) which is why QoT is considered an event white since it comes from Ent Ancient minions.
And while Crystal is also a random spawn after killing a quest monster just like any other event enemy, it’s not needed to close the realm.

#6

I think bees weren’t required to close the realm before? don’t quote me on that tho

#7

Is that true?

#8

According to deca dev, @Toastrz, yes.

ALso event whites refer to whites obtained from realm ‘events’ which are the non-guaranteed enemies that spawn when you defeat heroes of Oryx. And since the Lost Sentry and Crystal Prisoner are event spawns, their whites count as event whites.

#9

Then the wiki should make the more clear

In that case, I say that they are event whites

#10

That was a rather recent update. I remember reading it in the update list, just not sure how recently.

#11

But like why does the keyper and event white x2 not count crystal whites but they count cloak?

#12

Previous x2 events counted the crystal whites. Keyper also doesn’t have qot which is boosted this event.

And cloak drops from an event boss so by that logic, its an event white. Event bosses are the enemies that only spawn occasionally, specifically when you defeat the Heroes of Oryx. Since the Lost Sentry is one of those, its an event boss, even though its not required to close the realm.

Additionally, Avatar isn’t required to close the realm either but its an event boss.

#13

I’m sorry, I don’t understand. How is crystal not an event boss by the above definitions?

#14

It is an event boss. Its just the whites aren’t boosted, possibly because they aren’t as rare as other event whites.

#15

I think it only count if the whites drop from event bosses that are announced in the chat by Oryx.

#16

As for why some whites weren’t buffed, it’s as Wilhuff said - they’re already common enough. (Think Crystal Prisoner whites, Fungal Breastplate, Alien Armors, Beer God whites)

#17

das common?

#18

I was just as surprised as you are.

But, well, it was in the X.32.7.0 changes.

#19

The Crystal Prisoner doesn’t spawn as a hero. It’s just capped to one appearance and may not be in a realm at all, there’s no explicit trigger like encounters.

#20

Ohhh yeah, it has like, a 0.1% spawn chance or something, doesn’t it?
Classic ol’ Wild Shadow-esque thing. Surprisingly inventive.

#21

all three of those are event whites, they’ve all been boosted by the MotMG event white events.

This event doesn’t double their drops, and this is the only event white double event that has actually listed which event whites were boosted, so I think they just didn’t include them in the event.

Dusting off this one from the archives:

Since that time we’ve had the Heroes of Oryx terminology added, there’s also Beer God white bags now to consider whether they might count as “event whites”.

Crystal Prisoner/Mysterious Crystal is clearly not a Hero, because the hero count does not increase upon the crystal spawning, or cracking and CPris showing up. Also Toastrz clearly stating here that it doesn’t spawn in the Hero trigger sequence.

Beer God would be categorised the same as Crystal Prisoner, a rare spawn though not (to my knowledge) capped in its possible spawns like Mysterious Crystal is. So also not a Hero.
[Edit: see below comment from Seelpit, Beer God is capped in its spawns, believed to be max 3 per realm.]

Ents Ancient are a Hero of Oryx… although remember the QoT drops from the optional Greater Nature Sprite which is not a Hero.

So in fact none of these white bags (Cpris wbs, Beer wbs, QoT) is an event white in terms of Heroes of Oryx.

Which makes it IMO logical that none of these got included in the current x2 event, and it was an aberration (albeit a nice bonus) that they were in the 2018 x2 event.

#23

Actually, Beer Gods are capped in spawns. I believe it’s currently 3 max per Realm, but I’m not sure - the values were mixed around a bit during testing.
