Guide: How to play on Linux

#1

Hello, this guide will be for RotMG players who use Linux (it can also be used in Windows)

The trick is to download the Flash Projector 11 32 bit
http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/updaters/11/flashplayer_11_sa_32bit.exe

And obviously download Wine or similar

Open the executable with Wine

And they put the link https://www.realmeye.com/appspot

Click on OK and the game will be opened (here is the typical error that happens in linux)

File> Create projector | To solve the problem in linux. it is necessary to use the FP11 32bit projector

Save the file with the .exe extension

And open the .exe file with Wine

Thanks for reading this guide

Just askin

Who use linux lol

If it wasn’t in my school IT class
I wouldn’t even know that it exist lol

#3

People on chromebooks

#4

As someone who uses Linux, you could also just find the Linux distribution of the flash projector. Had to look for a few minutes but works just as well.
Meh, but people who use linux are either forced to because they can’t get windows or are asking to make life difficult lol.

#5

How’s linux?

I typed Linus first xd

#6

If you’re asking compared to windows, then I would probably use Linux always if it wasn’t so unsupported by basically everything in existance.

#7

Oof

I’ve heard linux is pretty damn great

did you get your spectre/meltdown patches yet?

#8

:cold_sweat: I have no idea what you just said lol

#9

Your profile look kinda cute

#10

There is also a guide for this in the wiki

https://www.realmeye.com/wiki/using-the-adobe-flash-projector
(scroll down to Realm in Linux)

dunno if its different

You can actually get windows for free from their official website (I run my PC on an unactivated version of windows), all you’ll really have to deal with is a small watermark on the bottom right hand side of the screen (not really a big deal imo) and a few settings being deactivated, which doesn’t really do much in my experience. You could activate it at any time for like $10-$20 if you buy the key from literally anybody but microsoft.

#12

Yes, Linux got the patches in Feb/April

#13

People use Linux if they’re on a Chromebook, which is unable to run any native files.

Here’s a guide on dualbooting: https://itsfoss.com/guide-install-linux-mint-16-dual-boot-windows/

In addition, OP’s method is confusing and not recommended for those inexperienced with Wine and Linux distros. There’s a direct installation for Linux on Adobe’s site. Here’s the link:

https://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/updaters/29/flash_player_sa_linux.x86_64.tar.gz

Just download the file and run it.

#14

I use Linux because for me is simply better in every way than windows (being efficiency performance privacy customisation or whatever).

#15

You missed the “Meh” and “lol” at the beginning and end respectively. I was just joking :stuck_out_tongue: the only problem I’m finding so far with linux is that there is less support for it.

#16

hah, you got me there xP
