hi! remember this?: Minesweeper but without Cats
cat pictures are in now so I’m doing some more testing. this is a minesweeper game where the background changes to random pictures from r/cats each time you play, and the further you progress on the board the more of the image that gets uncovered.
a few things to mention before downloading:
- the app will create 2 files and 2 folders next to it to save things to, so don’t put it somewhere you don’t want clutter. if you move those things away it will just generate new ones.
- on startup it has to make an initial pull from reddit to fill up the cats folder before you can play with cat pics. you can start a game immediately if you’d like and it will play normally, but you’ll get a default background image. a notification will appear after a bit to let you know it’s done downloading from reddit. after this initial pull you shouldn’t ever need to worry about the process since it all happens silently in the background, and refills before you run out.
- you can add your own custom backgrounds for pictures of your own pets or whatever really easily! all you have to do it drop the pictures into the cats folder and that’s literally it.
- after you win a board, the cat picture used will be moved out of the cats folder and into the completed folder. this way you don’t get repeats, and you’ll get new pictures from reddit once you clear enough to run low.
- if you don’t want to be pulling images from reddit because of a bad connection or something, enable offline mode in the options menu. this will also disable moving pictures from cats to completed to avoid running out of pictures.
