Potential Bug Report: Ninja stuck on speedy

Held down speedy to retrace steps to Mad Lab boss and speedy got locked on.
Tried shooting a star to unstick, but ran into an acid bomb instead.

This has been part of the game for a long time. It actually affects all classes except with others itā€™s movement that can get stuck. You press ā€˜Wā€™ to go up, but the game misses you stopping pressing ā€˜Wā€™ when you do and you keep going up for longer than expected. Itā€™s considered a feature of Ninja by some, as it lets you perma-speedy without holding down a key, with good enough MP heal, until you need to use your ability to do damage.

It can be caused by clicking outside the game when you are playing so some other app comes to the front and the ā€œstop pressing Wā€ signal goes to that. This used to be more of a problem with Flash when the game was played in a web page, as clicking elsewhere on the web page would cause the problem. With the standalone app minimising/hiding/closing/moving other apps means thereā€™s nothing else to click on. Or play full screen.

It can still happen with certain popup apps. Widows Update is perhaps the most infamous one but there are others. For this disable the app or service that causes the popup.

None of this is any help with a dead char. But itā€™s a known problem with how the game works, not something thereā€™s an easy fix for.

Sorry butā€¦LOL! I donā€™t know about anything other than the silences will keep you going speedy. I donā€™t think there is silence on the mad lab though. Try to dodge next timeā€¦:smiley:

Thinking on it, the Mad Lab does have its green pools which inflict Hex and Speedy, and while hexed you canā€™t shoot and maybe canā€™t use your ability, if itā€™s a shot-like ability. That could be what happened to @Graem.

And the green pools inflict Speedy. If you were speedy due to a green bath, not your ability, then the only way to get back to normal speed is a dip in a blue pool. Any class can be affected by this, but Ninja can also be speedy from their ability. Maybe confusion where speedy came from was the cause of the star not working to unstick speedy.
