Okay, so if he already has your IP address before you started to use a VPN then a VPN won’t do you any good(Hes going straight to you instead). To test if this is a true DDoS or if its simply an exploit hes using against your system you should try to browse the internet from another computer to see if its getting denied as well during the attack. Basically if its an exploit(virus, bug, whatever) being used against your computer then it won’t effect the other computers internet. If it is a DDoS then no computer will be able to use the internet. A true ddos can be a pain even for large corporations so hopefully it is the bug/virus exploit. If it is then the only options are to do a virus scan with multiple tools and hope for the best, if that doesn’t work a fresh install always gets rid of it.
