Overview

The Gunslinger is a class that uses his big iron (gun) to deal damage at a long range. With his holsters, the Gunslinger can quick-draw to attack quickly and accurately, resulting in enemies being in “Shock.” He wears leather armor to keep him light and protected. His raw dps is comparable to that of an Assassin. All pistols have a projectile speed of 25, an amplitude of .5 and a frequency of .05.
Ability

Gunslingers will detect enemies in a limited radius. Detected enemies will be shot only once (auto-aimed), prioritized by the closest enemy. There is a limited amount of enemies that can be shot at a time in the detection field (Holster’s “shots” value). All holsters have a cool down of .5 seconds, a projectile speed of 60, damage per shot equaling to the user’s weapon and inflict “shock.” The projectiles themselves shot by using the ability will have the range of the detection radius and have 0 amplitude and frequency.
Shock

A status effect exclusive to the Gunslinger. Enemies who are in shock will be dealt additional damage every time they are hit (e.g. shock dmg = 100, everytime a player hits an enemy, they deal an additional 100 damage) Shock damage ignores defense. Damage will depend on the Holster.
Strength and Weaknesses

A Gunslinger can deal decent dps at a long range. Pistols only have one shot but with high projectile speed. Their ability to deal shock may seem weak at first, but paired up with a large group, the overall dps of just 10 players can be increased by the tens of thousands since its potential is dependent on hits per second. The larger the group the more damage his ability can deal especially if there is a warrior that can cast berserk. His ability also has a rather large detection diameter (Tier 6 having a diameter of 14). His speed and wisdom allows for quick mana recovery and maneuverability.

With leather armor, the Gunslinger is squishy. With the lack of a weapon effect like wands or bows, pistols are sub par in terms of crowd control especially for only having 1 shot. His ability doesn’t deal high burst damage and depends on accuracy for maximum shock value. It can also commonly only hit up to 6 enemies at a time, which when faced with bosses that spawn lots of mobs, can be difficult to hit a desired target since it prioritizes the closest enemies. The Gunslinger can’t do a lot on his own such as rushing or clearing a crowd of enemies.
Group Role

The Gunslinger’s main purpose is to take advantage of a large group. His ability’s potential for damage grows as there are more people and more people. His debuff can be helpful on bosses and mobs alike i.e. clearing Oryx 2’s mobs more quickly by debuffing them with shock. Even weak player with poor equipment can deal around the same shock damage as a high level player since the damage is dependent on just hitting the target (which means a really weak character can potentially deal double their own dps).
More Info

Note that shock cannot be stacked e.g. multiple Gunslingers dealing their own respective shock damage along with each other’s. Only 1 shock effect can be applied to enemies at a time and will automatically become the value of the highest damaging holster in respects to their duration. Also, holsters shoot actual projectiles, unlike the sorcerer’s lightning, they can still either miss or hit an unintentional target or even hit an enemy twice or more depending on enemy positions. Enemies may even move out of the range of the shot. The holster’s very high projectile speed is to mitigate this.

I like the idea of a gun class, but I have a couple suggestions: Normally guns (especially handguns/revolvers) are more accurate close up, you could have the bullets fly faster and stray from their path the further out they go. Bullets are much more powerful than other medieval weapons in the game and could have the potential to partially ignore armor. The Sawed-Off Shotgun could have multiple shots and even be a UT.

Overall, a very nice concept

Thanks for the feedback. After seeing this I added it so that all tiered guns have an amplitude of .5 and a frequency of .05 to emulate bullets straying off course just a little, but not to be disruptive. The pistols already have a high projectile speed. And i think the power of the pistols should be taken into account to the game’s experience rather than real life. I didn’t want the Gunslinger having range and power like an archer with void bow, though i did give it higher damage compared to wands and daggers which already compensates for whatever amount of defense that would proportionately be ignored. I guess the shotgun could be a UT, but i wanted it to be the crossbow of tiered pistols. But that doesn’t mean there can’t be a UT shotgun that does what you say.

im out here getting some Enter the Gungeon Vibes.

I guess this idea works cause its a real new class, tho most classes in game have wands/staff/swords/ and daggers, due to that and the classes it has a medieval vibe to it all, i don’t see any issue with this since we do have ninja and samurai tho it’ll probably feel out of place unless more characters similar to gunslinger are released.

Overall! Great Class, id definitely main it because who wouldn’t want to run around running with a gun.
