Looks pretty clear that any projectile seems to render over players. However note how the hp bar has priority over the bullet, this goes for status effect icons as well. Just that needs to be changed.

Thats good, but another good thing would be to have the player appear on top of other players, and if it already does, give it a coloured outline (white?) to make it visible. (client sided, only visible on your own character)
