Kageboshi rework

#1

Unchanged:

Kageboshi

Kageboshi
Kageboshi: Imbued with energy from another place, the blade will pierce through any foe.

Tier: Untiered

While Key Held:

  • MP Cost: 10 MP/sec
  • Effect: Speedy on self

When Key Released:

  • MP Cost: 80
  • Damage: 414-506 (Average: 460) (5.75 dmg/MP)
  • Projectile Speed: 14
  • Range: 8.4

Stat Bonus: +2 DEF, +5 VIT
Fame Bonus: 5%
Feed Power: 800

Shots hit multiple targets
Shots pass through obstacles

Loot Bag Assigned to White Bag
Drops From Jade and Garnet Statues

Compared to tiered stars kageboshi is pretty good imo to me the problem was always the fact that this is event white and it for sure is lacking when compared to for example a jugg so here are some proposed changes:

Focusing on While Key Held effect:

1.Kageboshi

Kageboshi
Kageboshi: Imbued with energy from another place, the blade will pierce through any foe.

Tier: Untiered

While Key Held:

  • MP Cost: 20 MP/sec
  • Effect: +10/15 Def & Healing to self

When Key Released:

  • MP Cost: 80
  • Damage: 414-506 (Average: 460) (5.75 dmg/MP)
  • Projectile Speed: 14
  • Range: 8.4

Stat Bonus: +2 DEF, +5 VIT
Fame Bonus: 6%
Feed Power: 800

Shots hit multiple targets
Shots pass through obstacles

Loot Bag Assigned to White Bag
Drops From Jade and Garnet Statues

Sacrificing Speedy for solid survivability boost (the problem here is Samurai ofc). This one is probably better but doesn’t really fit a “shadow star” theme.

2.Kageboshi

Kageboshi
Kageboshi: Imbued with energy from another place, the blade will pierce through any foe.

Tier: Untiered

While Key Held:

  • MP Cost: 40 MP/sec

  • Effect: Invisibility on self

  • Disables MP healing while key is held

When Key Released:

  • MP Cost: 80
  • Damage: 414-506 (Average: 460) (5.75 dmg/MP)
  • Projectile Speed: 14
  • Range: 8.4

Stat Bonus: +2 DEF, +5 VIT
Fame Bonus: 6%
Feed Power: 800

Shots hit multiple targets
Shots pass through obstacles

Loot Bag Assigned to White Bag
Drops From Jade and Garnet Statues

With maxed MP on Ninja (252) it allows you to be invisible for ~6 sec (Rogue might be a little problem but still seems to be better). This one fits theme better.

Focusing on While Key Released effect:

1.Kageboshi

Kageboshi
Kageboshi: Imbued with energy from another place, the blade will pierce through any foe.

Tier: Untiered

While Key Held:

  • MP Cost: 10 MP/sec
  • Effect: Speedy on self

When Key Released:

  • MP Cost: 125
  • Damage: 414-506 (Average: 460) (5.75 dmg/MP)
  • Projectile Speed: 14
  • Range: 8.4
  • Effect: Weak for 5 seconds

Stat Bonus: +2 DEF, +5 VIT
Fame Bonus: 6%
Feed Power: 800

Shots hit multiple targets
Shots pass through obstacles

Loot Bag Assigned to White Bag
Drops From Jade and Garnet Statues

Might be broken af some cooldown would actually be ok but with status effect system change on unity it’s not necessary. Imo best of all three makes Ninja a decent supportive class doesn’t interfere with other classes and is very unique.

I would say that the first one is kinda similar to ST star

Invisibility one seems nice

Weak would be pretty useful for some bosses but a lot of them would become weak-immune after this rework.

#3

i’d compare 1st to seal and deca is going to rework status effects so most bosses won’t be immune

invisibility is probably the most practical; you play the ninja to go fast, and that’s mainly for rushing. but, if you’re so goddamn squishy (which the ninja is), you die really fast. this gives you an alternative; if there’s a certain dungeon, or portion of a dungeon that is too risky to run through, swap on the invis star and sneak through. hell, maybe the mp cost is even higher, but you also get speedy alongside invis. this seems broken, but it would let you rush through certain parts of a dungeon without any threat; albeit it’d have to be very short lived (like 60 mp/sec).

I feel like the classes are switched: rogue should be fast and ninja should be stealthy
