New class: Soldier

Hey guys! I’m new to this forum and I decided to post this idea I have had for a while now on this forum! The soldier uses the sword as their main weapon, and wears heavy armors. Their ability is a lance, when used charges them forward in the direction of where you are walking, or just still if you aren’t moving, and makes you armored while you do. You can go through multiple enemies with one charge. You are unable to change directions once it is activated. It spawns a lot of large lance bullets in front of you when activated while you charge, and if you hit an enemy it does devastating damage depending on the ability. All lances have a cool down of 2 seconds, except the Spectral lance, which has a cooldown of 1.5 seconds. Stats for the class are:
770 hp
220 mp
25 def
65 attack
55 speed
60 dexterity
50 wisdom
45 vitality
The ability tiers are as follows:

T0: Wooden lance

A lance made of wood from a common tree. Looks brittle.

40 MP per use

+2 speed

Does 100 damage upon contact with an enemy

Charge lasts for 1 seconds.

T1: Metal lance:

A lance made from a sturdy metal. Looks sharp.

45 MP per use

+3 speed

Does 200 damage upon contact with an enemy

Charge lasts for 1.5 seconds.

T2: Steel lance:

A lance made from solid steel. Looks painful.

50 MP per use

+2 speed

Does 400 damage upon contact with an enemy

Charge lasts for 1.5 seconds.

T3: Fire lance

A lance made from fire itself, somehow. Burns red.

55 MP per use

+5 speed

Does 500 damage upon contact with an enemy

Charge lasts for 2 seconds.

T4: Obsidian Lance:

A lance made from sharp polished obsidian. Looks ancient.

60 MP per use

+5 speed

Does 600 damage upon contact with an enemy

Charge lasts for 2 seconds.

T5: Golden lance:

A lance made of reinforced gold. Looks shiny.

65 MP per use

+5 speed

+2 attack

Does 650 damage upon contact with an enemy

Charge lasts for 2.5 seconds

T6: Platinum lance

A lance made of pure diamond. Incredibly sharp and light.

65 MP per use

+6 speed

+2 dexterity

+2 attack

+2 wisdom

Does 800 damage upon contact with an enemy

Charge lasts for 3 seconds.

UT: Spectral lance

Drops from the ghost ship

You can see through it. It`s still sharp.

75 MP per use

+3 speed

+5 wisdom

Upon use you charge through enemies invisible. Charge lasts for 4 seconds. Does not do damage.

UT: Demon lance

Drops from the Red Demons

The lance itself seems to be infused with pure hatred towards you.

80 MP per use.

+3 speed

+5 attack

+3 dexterity

Upon use you charge at where your cursor points, armored, and deal devastating damage.
Does 1000 damage upon contact with an enemy.

All of the tiered sprites can be found here, as well as some other sprites for other things and plenty of minecraft trash.

Not bad but can you provide an example of what a 8x8 lance would look like. I just can’t see it.

The Demon lance seems a bit overpowered to me.
Armored, 200 more damage than the T6 Lance…

The T6 deals more damage than the T5. Shouldn’t be that way.

Finally, MP costs?

Forgot the MP costs, lol knew I was forgetting something. All lances give armored so you don’t die from a god wall. Also, the T6 and T5 are meant to be different, and the Demon lance doesn’t work the same way as you charge at where your cursor points and deal damage, rather than charge for say, 3 seconds. Any suggestions on balancing?

What are the stats on that class? What does it look like?

Does the “charge” ability make you go any faster, or does it just make you go in a straight line at normal speed?

I feel like this is pretty insane when rushing, but the fact that the ability locks your movement for several seconds and requires you to run head first into enemies to deal damage makes it a lot more balanced.

Dang forgot the stats. Duh me. The imgur link has a space between the Q and the r because otherwise a huge image pops up. Can you help me fix that? The charge ability does charge in that line at about 3 times normal speed. There is also a cooldown, and you are not invincible when doing such, just armored. Rushing would be good, but the low defence while the cooldown takes place, as well as it would lock your movement so you cant dodge while charging, makes it balanced enough. Any balancing ideas? Also sprites are not complete yet.

Even when I put a r at the end, the link is still broken for me. No idea if it’s a problem with me or with your Imgur page.

Considering how low the Mp cost is and how fast and powerful the charge is, maybe the cooldown should be increased.

I’m not too sure what we could do with the stats. Maybe something like a glass cannon burst specialist, with the same Hp/Mp as other melees, 60 Atk 25 Def 45 Spd 45 Dex 60 Wis 40 Vit?

Did you just… recolor a Crystal Wand? I mean, I don’t hate that sprite, it’s just hard for me to see it as a spear.

K it works and it looks like a reskined wand to me. Also why don’t you move the f over where it should be?

It makes a huge image, at least on the preview. I couldn’t exactly design anything that looks much better, I might try again once I`m done with the class sprite.

I didn’t spend that much time on it, its just hard to make a proper spear in an 8x8, at least for me. I didn’t recolor the crystal wand, its just an accident. And Shatters, it didn’t appear that way in the preview.

Also, how far does it charge, and is the characters hitbox changed? Maybe while rushing, the hitbox becomes wider to catch more enemies in the charge

It charges to your cursor, and the hitbox isn’t change but you are given armored. And Fehencross idk what ur talking about. Is that here or reddit or something?
