Patch X.28.0 - Month of the Mad Samurai

#103

Useful! Because it is degrading for pay-players to have to mingle with the freeloading plebs and actually go into a realm or something to level up.
/s

The quest chest way of turbo levelling up - before they kyboshed it - at least that had the merit of you needing to have done whatever content to earn the chest in the first place, but they removed that only now to bring in a way for payers to skip levelling completely?

It’s bad signalling to their priorities (“give us your gold we don’t care if you actually play the game”) and, maybe worse, things like this feel like they’re just modding the game, rather than joined-up strategy from the devs/owners.

They just needn’t be so blatant about it. Release some easy tier steamrolly dungeon (eg UDL/Abyss tier) that is fast to run, has a single path, and always has enough minions to give enough XP in a full clear to get from 0 to 20. Then sell THAT key so people buy it as the easy level up option.

And Potion of Max Level, does not count as a potion? Erm maybe calling it potion then isn’t the best choice.

Edit: should add re-reading this, it’s hardly that I feel any need to riot over this item or anything - because it’s only catering to the lazy with a shortcut to save them the 5 minutes that level up takes. Just that it’s emblematic of wrong priorities that Deca instead of making level-up more interesting, they just give players a complete opt-out.

#104

Heh, they should start selling apples of extreme maxening

#105

Honestly I think it would be funny if they made it so that it got rid of the thirsty bonus. That way fame trainers couldn’t use it.

#106

Epic working on fame rework while still supporting fame bonuses and not selling it for fame

#107

Yeah, Thirsty is one of the most annoying fame things, ever since they brought in the specialised HP/MP pot slots but didn’t code them to break Thirsty. Made sense in the old days when we carted around the pots directly in inventory - as if you were bold and went without, you did deserve a bonus as you’d likely die sooner. Now pets have taken over, a “petless” would be the equivalent, but even more so.

And surely anyone who doesn’t know about the Thirsty thing is going to trip themselves up anyway when they start drinking their looted statpots. TBH even seeing that text I’d opt for safe and drop+drink. But yes I agree the level 20 pot should have been a Thirsty-breaker. Players can always drop, drink, and pick back up if they are bonus-hunting.

@Doc
Pretty late reply but yep, I started farming those the day they announced the new class, took me like 25minutes to get 2400 base fame.

#109

1500 fame alone from the epic chests wow

#110

Cool useful item that is not worth 500 gold

New item in nexus [Potion of Max Level]
#111

If it counted as a potion and costed fame I would be fine with it

#112

Im not too sure what Deca would do with some dead animals

#113

It’s probably something from testing they added to the game by accident. Hopefully, otherwise it’s just stupid.

#114

Should be renamed to Roller’s Remedy.

Would only use if I was rolling.

That’s only if I ever got myself to buy something like this instead of just going into a realm for 10 minutes.

#115

Yeah, and this should have a guaranteed good roll to be worth 500 gold.

#116

even more p2w kek

#117

The instalevel pot is almost as bad a noob bait as tops in nexus.

I can see it being somewhat worth the price if you can keep your characters alive for a while and have a lot of disposable income, but in any other case you might as well flush a 5-dollar bill down the toilet.

#118

Just now updated to #X28.0.5

I’m guessing update was needed to return the loot drop rates to normal as the x2 event ended.

#119
