Sprite Fragments (Drop Rates now Included)

#1

After SoloSen brought up the premise of sprite worlds getting a consumable item i took some time to think it over and decided to come up with one myself. To this i present the Sprite Fragments!

###Sprite Fragments

Sprites are sentient beings of energy, originating from a distant plane beyond our comprehension of existence. Sometimes, when destroyed; these entities leave behind fragments, which essentially are essences of their consciousness. These can be used to bring about a sprites existence in their favor.

Sprite Fragments function similarly to drake eggs, but are more versatile and not nearly as rare. When used, a fragment will summon a temporary pet-like sprite; which will not only attack enemies, but also inflict debuffs or buff allies.

Each player can only have up to two sprites active at one time. Attempting to use a fragment while you already have two active will yield no results.

NOTE: Sprites summoned by Limon the Sprite Goddess are not able to drop fragments.

####Magic Sprite Fragment

A consciousness fragment of a Magic Sprite. If used, it will revive the sprites consciousness to fight for your side! Magic sprites enhance ones mental clarity and provide potent magical strength.
####Stats:

  • Effect: Summons a Magic Sprite Consciousness as a temporary companion.
  • Feed Power: 20

####Drops From:

  • Native Magic Sprite [Common Drop]
  • Magic Sprite [Uncommon Drop]

####Magic Sprite Consciousness

The sentient consciousness of a Magic Sprite. Much like a ghost, it cannot be harmed; but it’s existence is finite. It provides mental clarity to focus increased magical power in combat.

####Stats:
Lifetime: 60 Seconds.
Attacks with a tight 4-bullet shotgun, each bullet dealing 18 damage.
Provides 100 +MP to the player and one nearby ally for 5 seconds every 10 seconds.
+MP Effect lasts for 7.5 seconds.

####Info
This is essentially like having an enhanced tincture constantly buffing you for 60 seconds.

####Ice Sprite Fragment

A consciousness fragment of an Ice Sprite. If used, it will revive the sprites consciousness to fight for your side! Ice sprites chill foes to the bone with their frigid magical attacks; making them easier to target.
####Stats:

  • Effect: Summons an Ice Sprite Consciousness as a temporary companion.
  • Feed Power: 25

####Drops From:

  • Native Ice Sprite [Common Drop]
  • Ice Sprite [Uncommon Drop]

####Ice Sprite Consciousness

The sentient consciousness of an Ice Sprite. Much like a ghost, it cannot be harmed; but it’s existence is finite. It attacks foes with weak; but frigid magic.

####Stats:
Lifetime: 60 Seconds.
Attacks enemies with 3-shot, high-speed shotguns of ice stars that slow targets hit for 2 seconds.
Each shot deals 15 damage.

####Info
This sprite can be particularly useful, as it’s attack has long range and a wide-spread; as well as high speed. Most foes will be hit by at least one star and become easier to target because of it.

####Fire Sprite Fragment

A consciousness fragment of a Fire Sprite. If used, it will revive the sprites consciousness to fight for your side! Fire sprites are highly aggressive, so much so that their fury tends to rub off on others nearby.
####Stats:

  • Effect: Summons a Fire Sprite Consciousness as a temporary companion.
  • Feed Power: 30

####Drops From:

  • Native Fire Sprite [Common Drop]
  • Fire Sprite [Uncommon Drop]

####Fire Sprite Consciousness

The sentient consciousness of a Fire Sprite. Much like a ghost, it cannot be harmed; but it’s existence is finite. It unleashes rapid barrages of powerful fire, while also enraging those near it.

####Stats:
Lifetime: 30 Seconds.
Provides players within 2 tiles berserk for 3 seconds every 6 seconds.
Frequently fires 2-shot, slow-moving shotguns at enemies.
Each shot deals 20 armor-piercing damage.

####Info
This sprite is all about aggression. It unleashes the most powerful attacks damage-wise and provides constant berserk buffs to those close to it, however this buff is the equivalent of a T0 helmet. It’s lifetime is also much shorter then other sprites preventing it’s potent effects from being too much of a game changer.

####Nature Sprite Fragment

A consciousness fragment of a Nature Sprite. If used, it will revive the sprites consciousness to fight for your side! Nature Sprites are conservative and protective of those around them, providing regeneration and increased endurance to it’s allies.
####Stats:

  • Effect: Summons a Nature Sprite Consciousness as a temporary companion.
  • Feed Power: 40

####Drops From:

  • Native Nature Sprite [Uncommon]
  • Greater Nature Sprite [Uncommon, but slightly higher then natives]

####Nature Sprite Consciousness

The sentient consciousness of a Nature Sprite. Much like a ghost, it cannot be harmed; but it’s existence is finite. It provides healing and endurance to it’s allies while fighting off it’s foes.

####Stats:
Lifetime: 20 Seconds.
Provides players within 5 tiles 75 +HP and Healing for 3 seconds every 5 seconds.
Gradually fires wide 5-shot shotguns at foes.
Each shot deals 16 damage.

####Info
This sprite is essentially a living Gcookie, providing an equivalent health buff and healing for very similar duration’s. However, it does not provide Damaging and only lives for 20 seconds, making it’s effect; while potent, very short. Notably, it’s drop rate is higher on Greater Nature Sprites, encouraging buffed Ent Ancients to achieve them.

####Darkness Sprite Fragment

A consciousness fragment of a Darkness Sprite. If used, it will revive the sprites consciousness to fight for your side! Darkness Sprites are sinister, rendering their enemies bleak and vulnerable to be annihilated.
####Stats:

  • Effect: Summons a Darkness Sprite Consciousness as a temporary companion.
  • Feed Power: 50

####Drops From:

  • Native Darkness Sprite [Rare]

####Darkness Sprite Consciousness

The sentient consciousness of a Darkness Sprite. Much like a ghost, it cannot be harmed; but it’s existence is finite. It strips it’s foes of all protection and unleashes dark curses, rendering those that oppose it helpless.

####Stats:
Lifetime: 10 Seconds.
Fires an extremely long-ranged 5-shot shotgun at foes every 4 seconds
Each shot deals 16 damage, inflicts Armor Broken for 2 seconds, and inflicts curse for 3 seconds.

####Info
This sprite is special, it easily has the potential to be the strongest sprite out of the five; but with quite a hefty drawback. It only lives for ten seconds, and has a 4 second delay on it’s attack, granting it only two opportunities to fire before it disappears. If it’s shots connect however, an enemy will be rendered immensely vulnerable by a combination of Armor Broken and Curse.

####Parting Notes

I’d like to say this was fun to work on and contemplate, big thanks to SoloSen for bringing up the subject.
Sprites may not be original but they are meant to give off the premise of an idea; rather then a finished product.

#4

IKR? xD But that is what the premise is, an ‘idea’. And is always open to change as necessary.

Perhaps inflicting both debuffs for 1.5-2 seconds would be more preferable.

#5

Yeah, add a cooldown between them? I think that way they aren’t as abused.

#6

I made an edit to include a maximum sprite limitation.
