Giving a new class the ability to daze doesn’t mean that the QoT would be any less valuable than it already is, take into consideration that their ranges differ as a katana class would be only a slight advantage, range wise, to a melee and the archer is a ranged class, therefore giving each class a completely different playing style. Furthermore, there is simply no other status effect that could be given to a new class’ ability without repeating another classes.
Maybe I could reduce the period of the status effect by around 1 second for the lower and higher tiers, but im not willing to change the effect on enemies.

First of all, do whatever you want man, it’s your idea. Daze… something else… I don’t really care.

However… Here are a some links to ideas that I thought were similar to yours that have been posted here, discussed briefly, and then passed on without much fanfare. Some of them are more complete than yours, some less.





I could continue with these, because I guarantee you there are at least a dozen more out there, not limited to this forum. I don’t want to take the wind out of your sails or anything, but this idea has been used time and again, and it’s not like yours is any better or worse than the others, but the only truly good class/weapon/dungeon ideas that get posted here are complete ones that have been given a lot of thought. And even then, there’s really not much point in posting them because DECA doesn’t really scour this forum for new ideas to implement. I don’t really see the point, especially for something like the Samurai/Shogun, etc. Again though, do what you want. It’s all for fun anyway.

Thank you for enlightening me, i do need suggestions for it though. Because I said that I would not be willing to change the status effect of it doesn’t mean I wont, all i need is some suggestion from users who have criticised this and want to improve the concept.
It is a dissapointment to hear that Deca rarely bat an eyelid at the forums as they look as if they need new content to add to the game to attract new players like me. And i doubt, although I shall try, that they would look into my idea in detail even if i were to contact them about it directly.

Everyone is being unnecessarily butthurt over archer not being ‘special’ anymore. Though if a new class where to be released it would need to have daze in order to make it unique from every other class. Also, shogun isn’t original, it’s just the five billionth class samurai. :sunglasses:

Thanks for backing me up a little. I only thought mine was original because I kept seeing Samurai ideas appearing, and really the Shogun (in ancient Japan) were different to the Samurai and specialised in different weapons. So I did my history research for originality, but not enough research into other similar class ideas.

I know what you meant but still no. The game doesn’t work like that and won’t change how it works for just one class.

Its not like this would actually be added into the game anyway, and if it ever were I think players would just have to accept it. I wouldn’t really call it changing how the game works anyway. It would just be a matter if coding one or two items differently.

Basically a heavy armour Ninja that can daze and slow with tiered abilities, but the tiered abilities might aswell do next to no damage as adding damage to them would be too overpowered. I could possibly decrease the dexterity further. However, people need to take into consideration that it has low MP even at maximum compared to the other in-game classes. Furthermore the ability would have a high MP cost and a cooldown similar to a knight and its shield.

Because it can daze QoT is obsolete.

By that logic, ctrap is obsolete because of tiered quivers. The Slow Quivers (Freezing and Beehemoth) are obsolete because tiered traps slow. Since quivers paralyze, midnight obsolete.

See the problem? Yes the class needs to be nerfed, however adding daze to a class as the main ability would be an incredibly neat game mechanic. Especially late game do to a ton of enemies being immune to stun. What I would do is remove the slow, and add a 2.5 second delay to stop the spam. Also raise the mp cost so it is also harder to spam.

Thank you, should I also reduce the daze times from 2.5 (lower tiers) and 4.5 (higher tiers) down by around 0.5-1 second shorter and have low damages on them?
And then I could even lower the classes attack by 5 an dexterity by another 5, maybe adding a better balance?
