**Basaran** is an enemy that is found in the Cultist Hideout. He uses triangle-shaped ice attacks. {{template-realm-eye-lore | response=Basaran was a leader of the necromantic organization assembled for research in the Lost Halls.
He specialized in ice magic, which combined with the fire magic of Malus to produce a neutral compound used for binding ethereal souls.
After the Void Entity took control of the Marble Colossus, he and his four remaining associates retreated beneath the facility to hide from the calamity. }}

Behavior

Basaran is found on one corner of the pentagram in the middle of the Cultist Hideout boss room. Before the battle begins, the cultists have some dialogue. Basaran speaks third and taunts "Have they finally found us?" . When the battle begins, he will teleport around, stopping to fire triangle-shaped bursts of Blue Shots. When enough damage is dealt to him, he will teleport back to his original location. When this happens he will taunt "Hide if you wish, but it will do you no good.". Once all 5 cultists have been dealt sufficient damage, they will summon [Molek](/wiki/molek) and disappear. Once Molek is dead, the process repeats, with the only difference being that the Cultists now fire 3-burst spreads of their projectile shapes instead of single ones. On returning for the second time, Basaran will taunt "You will pay for disrupting our ceremony!". Once all of them have been sufficiently damaged again, they will summon [Balaam](/wiki/balaam) and vanish again. Once Balaam is dead, the process repeats, but this time the Cultists will fire 5-round bursts of their shapes. On returing for the third time, Basaran will taunt "These wretched catacombs will be your last sight!". Once all five of them have taken enough damage, they will sacrifice themselves to empower [Malus](/wiki/malus) and start the second phase of the fight. His sacrifice taunt is "My essence is yours, Malus!". Back to top

Tips and Strategies

As he inflicts one of the most dangerous status effects out of all the cultists, it is very important for you to be able to steer clear of his slowing shots.
