Realm of the Mad God introduced Character Skins in the 'Backpack Build' or [6.0.0](/wiki/development-and-release-history#release-6). These Skins are tied to various Classes. The skins remain unlocked even after death on a character. Classic skins are the default appearances for each character. Alt Skins can be purchased for Realm Gold either when creating a new character or at the wardrobe in the player's vault. Promotional skins are limited edition skins that can be obtained through various methods, such as Mystery Boxes or as drops from certain enemies.
