**Davy Jones** is the boss of [Davy Jones's Locker](/wiki/davy-jones-s-locker). {{template-realm-eye-lore | response=Much about Davy Jones, the immortal pirate's devil, is superstitious legend. He was indeed a flesh-and-blood pirate however, and a great enemy to Oryx.
Jones's endless piracy threatened the influx of alcohol needed to satisfy Oryx, so a battle of the seas was waged, ending with the ruination of Jones's ship.
The sunken vessel was dragged into a lake on top of a mountain in mockery, but the crew's souls were bound to the wreckage and doomed to sail forevermore. }}

Behavior

Davy Jones spawns in the center of a large room found behind a locked yellow door. He is surrounded by 8 [Ghost Lanterns](/wiki/ghost-lantern) that are key to defeating him. #####Invulnerable Phase Davy slowly wanders towards the nearest player, firing single slashes that inflict high damage and Bleeding. He will spawn several [Ghost Pirate Seniors](/wiki/ghost-pirate-sr) that chase players while firing shotguns, always maintaining a squad of 3-4 around him at all times. Davy is permanently invulnerable until the 8 Ghost Lanterns are lit by dealing 2000 damage to all of them. Note that if left alone for too long, the Lanterns can unlight themselves. Once they are all lit, he will enter his vulnerable phase. #####Vulnerable Phase Davy crumples over and stops attacking momentarily before becoming vulnerable for a short time. After taking enough damage or having enough time pass, he will become invulnerable again, and all of the lanterns will become unlit and fire a radial burst of Paralyzing shots. Davy will them begin rapidly chasing the nearest player with shotguns of Bleeding slashes. Once he chases for a certain amount of time, he will revert back to his previous phase. Once he takes enough damage, he will add aimed boomerangs to his attacks that inflict heavier damage as well as Bleeding. As he loses health, his attacks get more frequent and he will fire many more shots in a single attack, making him much more lethal. When at low health, he will sometimes taunt **"On your knees ye slimy sea slurp!"**, **"Be gone with ye!"**, or **"Avast, ye filthy mongrel!"** when the Ghost Lanterns become unlit..

Tips and Strategies

Stay away from him at all costs. While he doesn't hurt too much at first, later in the fight his shotgun will be able to deal immense damage or even a one-hit-kill to any unwary players. Take care of his minions if they become too much of an issue, but be aware that he will usually respawn them immediately afterwards. Avoid paralyzing bullets of lanterns when they turn off, because if you get paralyzed and Davy sits on you it will cast instant death unless you are a melee with 50+ defense. Competing for soulbound damage on Davy is notoriously difficult as he has very short vulnerability times and the fact that he has a tendency to get steamrolled in large groups extremely quickly. Use faster-firing weapons if possible to exploit his vulnerability.
