Behavior

**Guardian Phase** - In the first half of battle, the Golden Oryx Effigy spawns four [Treasure Oryx Defenders](/wiki/treasure-oryx-defender) and ten [Gold Planets](/wiki/gold-planet). The Defenders will circle around the Effigy, and the Golden Planets will also circle at a wider radius. Both will be shooting bullets. While there are still Defenders, the Effigy will be invulnerable.

When the Defenders have been destroyed, the Effigy will turn black and will be damageable. If enough damage is dealt, the battle will move on to the Bomb and Bullets Phase. Otherwise, the Effigy will turn gold, spawn 4 Guardians and be invulnerable again.

**Bombs and Bullets Phase** The Effigy will stay vulnerable through this whole phase. It alternates between these two attacks. - It will rapidly bombard the area around it with a messy spray of Red Bombs. It heals itself for 200 HP every now and then while doing this. - It will fire a 4-armed spiral of Gold Fireballs that rotate counterclockwise. The direction the spiral moves in will change every now and then. This phase lasts until the Effigy is destroyed.

Tips and Strategies

- There are several rock formations along the edges of his boss room that can be used as shelter. - There are Vases lining the walls that can be broken for restoratives if you need health or mana. - The Gold Planets' bullet spiral has a fixed rotation. Tracking their spiral is useful in dodging their attacks. - Note that this boss has no guaranteed potion drop if soloed.
