This squid-like creature with a shell was sent by Oryx to terrorize the pirates, dismantling their vessels with ease. Davy Jones was dragged down to the depths of the sea, and imprisoned in the ruins of his once powerful ship. This location is now known as Davy Jones's Locker. When Thessal came along, she was captivated by this Hermit God. She knew Oryx wouldn't approve, so she secretly slipped the key to her trench of residence in its shell. This is why the Hermit God drops the entrance to the ocean trench.

Behavior

Phase 1 8 Tentacles will circle the pool of deep water that the Hermit God is hidden in, the tentacles will chase players and fire bullets in a circular pattern if they get too close to them. Hermit Minions will be present chasing players. Phase 2 Once all 8 Tentacles are killed, the Hermit God will rise from his pool and attack players with ink blobs. 8 Whirlpools will be spawned and circle the Hermit God, more Hermit Minions will be spawned as well. Phase 3 The Hermit God will shoot bullets a couple of times followed by glowing red and shooting 3 novas that pierce though players, then the Hermit God will sink into the water and phase 1 will repeat. Whirlpools will disappear at the start of this phase.

Tips and Strategies

Warrior tips Warrior is one of the best classes to do Hermit God, and this event is recommended for obtaining the coveted Helm of the Juggernaut. (Knight can solo it too). With 40+ def, warrior can easy kill all Hermit Minions and the Hermit Tentacles, at Phase 2 & 3 don't worry about whirlpools (if you have >42 def they only do 7 dmg) and shoot the Hermit God, Crystal Sword is maybe the best sword to use at phase 2. At phase 3 to do heavier damage use a Skysplitter Sword OR Sword of Acclaim. Knight tips The knight can stun and keep stunning Hermit God at phase 3, use a Tier 4+ shield or snake skin if you don't have a Tier 4 shield. The knight can have +60 def if maxed so Hermits would be more easy soloing than warriors. Ogmurs are also useful, but the stun is vital if soloing to prevent accidental death caused by paralysis by the minions.
