**The Forgotten Sentinel** is the first boss of [The Shatters](/wiki/the-shatters), located on a long bridge after the first large area in the dungeon. The Forgotten Sentinel can only be activated once all the [Titanums](/wiki/titanum) and [Paladin Obelisks](/wiki/paladin-obelisk) are cleared from the boss area.

Behavior

Upon reaching the area on the bridge near the boss, the bridge entrance will begin to seal off and trap any players who have not caught up. The boss is guarded by 4 unique Titanums and 2 Paladin Obelisks, which will say "DO NOT WAKE THE BRIDGE GUARDIAN!" upon activation, after which they will create a create a grid of continuous projectiles until they are killed. When the sentinel is activated, it will say "Who has woken me...? Leave this place." and fire a few radial bursts of large projectiles in front. It will then say "Go." and will then fire an oscillating stream of projectiles over a wide area. Then, it will say "Good. Pests must be gone." Once the sentinel has taken enough damage, it will say "You live still? DO NOT TEMPT FATE!" followed by "CONSUME!". Then multiple Blobombs will continue to spawn on the arena. Meanwhile, the boss will continue firing the oscillating projectile stream and the radial burst, periodically saying "FOOLS! YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND!". Once the boss has been defeated, it will turn invulnerable, say "I tried to protect you... I have failed. You release a great evil upon this realm...." and then explode, possibly leaving behind a loot bag.

Tips and Strategies

if you are in a large cluster of people you will very easily steamroll the first boss. Keep staying on right side not to activate all monsters (they are most on left side). Only go left to destroy first switch on left side. After destroying the switch and opening the bridge door, you have a limited amount of time to reach the boss platform before the bridge disappears. Upon reaching the boss area there will be 4 titaniums and 2 Paladin Obelisks. Go towards the bottom left one first and just sit in the corner with the large group, the Titanium will die pretty quickly. Continue by going up towards the boss and staying with the group to kill the second one, stay away from the Titanium as he will summon enemies. You have to be careful to avoid the giant snowball projectiles they shoot, these will instantkill, it is recommended to kill the paladin obelisks as they will keep spawning Stone Paladins. TIP: Since the sentinel is not immune to daze, archers can reduce the number of white bullets being shot (It might also reduce the number of blobombs spawned but it's quite hard to verify) Now, line up against the wall and find yourself in a good position in the group. After the 4 Titaniums and the Paladin Obelisks are cleared, the boss battle will begin. By sitting at the wall you will avoid almost all his projectile and those at the front lines will take the hits (Usually Priest or Melee). Here comes the hard part. The Sentinel will say, "You live still? DO NOT TEMPT FATE!", "CONSUME!" - Blobombs phase eating their entire shotgun is a guaranteed death. Mystics, Huntresses, Sorcerers and Archers will help to Stasis or Slow down the Blobombs.If you aren't any of those classes focus all your fire on the Sentinel, as when he dies the Blobombs disappear. TIP: If you are in a group or with your guild, one member (preferably a melee class) can drag away Blobombs (it is required to be really good at dodging though). The best part is that he will not reduce his chance to get loot ! After he is defeated, he will cry "I tried to protect you.. I have failed. You released a great evil upon this realm.", be warned, Blobombs are still active when he says this, and a small group of new ones will spawn. A chest will spawn in the middle of the room. Rush to it while avoiding any remaining Blobombs and get your soulbound damage on that chest!!!
