The Puppet Master is the boss of the Puppet Master's Theatre. *In a time before the adventurers arrived in Oryx's Realm and before Oryx shut himself away in his Wine Cellar, the Mad God surrounded himself with a court of followers. Shaitan, the Mad God's advisor was present at the right hand of his master and the Stone Guardians protected him with their life. In all aspects but one, it could be considered a thriving realm. ####Behavior **Activation Phase** The Puppet Master is positioned in the upper area of the room when you enter. When you activate him he taunts: **"Welcome to the Final Act, my friends. My puppets require life essence in order to continue performing…"** He then moves into the middle of the room and begins Phase 1. **Phase 1** Taunt: **"It’s not much, but your lives will have to do for now!"** The Puppet Master fires streams of purple armor-piercing bullets that slowly sweep across the area. He then chases players, firing green, slowing bullets at them. Once he has lost about 1/4 of his health, he will switch to Phase 2. **Phase 2** Taunt: **"Watch them dance, hero, as they drain your life away!"** The Puppet Master spawns a [Knight Puppet](/wiki/knight-puppet), a [Priest Puppet](/wiki/priest-puppet), and a [Wizard Puppet](/wiki/wizard-puppet). He then fires four streams of purple bullets that slowly rotate clockwise. If not enough damage is dealt, he will stop firing momentarily and then restart the phase. Once he is at about 1/2 health, he will switch to Phase 3. **Phase 3** Taunt: **"Find me if you can, hero, or die trying!"** The boss temporarily turns invisible and invulnerable before sending out a multitude of [False Puppet Masters](/wiki/false-puppet-master). Him and his clones will wander the area, attacking with 5-directional blue bolts and shotguns of green slowing bullets. The real Puppet Master is distinguishable by having the Armored status effect and only half his health. He also goes invincible every so often. If one of the clones dies, it will taunt: **"You may have killed me, but I am only a pretender. I hope you’re ready for a plot twist!"** It will then explode into paralyzing shots and spawn a multitude of [Rogue Puppets](/wiki/rogue-puppet) and [Assassin Puppets](/wiki/assassin-puppet). Once the real Puppet Master has been reduced to 1/4 health, he will transition to his final phase. **Phase 4** Taunt: **"Lucky guess hero, but I’ve run out of time to play games with you. It is time that you died!"** The Puppet Master goes back to the top of the room. He will then spawn Priest, Wizard and Knight Puppets at a constant rate while firing oscillating streams of purple armor-piercing projectiles. The Puppet Master is Armored for this entire phase, which lasts until his death. **Death Phase** Taunt: **"No!!! This cannot be how my story ends!! I WILL HAVE MY ENCORE, HERO!"** The Puppet Master stops for a bit, then explodes into several fast-moving, paralyzing blasts. Do NOT let your guard down when he dies, as active puppets do not die when he does. If you are paralyzed by his final burst, you will be left as easy prey for any Knight or Wizard Puppets that happen to be still alive. ####Reproduction Spawns:

The loot drops directly from the respective boss now. ### Tips and Strategies If alone, or with a single friend, and don’t have enough firepower to take out both the Knight and the Wizard that the Puppet Master spawns, it is advised to drag them to the bottom of the room or 1-2 rooms back. Once the Puppet master has hit the max amount of spawn rates, he will only spawn in the Priests. Once you beat his first phase, the Puppet master will spawn in roughly 4 fake versions of himself. To end this phase quickly you must **only kill the one that switches between being armored and invincible (shield icon above)**. He will then transfer to phase 3. In this phase, he sits at the top of the room, shooting the same purple armor piercing bullets that do about 80 damage each. He will also be spawning more Priests, Knights, and Wizards (If you drag them away in the first phase he will still spawn more, so it is good to kill them after the first phase is over.) Be sure not to stand on him during this phase, as the fixed damage can instantly kill you unless you have life maxed. Repeat the same thing in phase one if you don’t have enough firepower. Afterwards, you can slowly take him out if you either keep taking out the priests, or have enough DPS to counter them. [Back to top](#top)
