Is a legitimate high eff fametrain possible?

#18

and that’s why I’m asking whether it’s possible to have people idling without breaking ToS.

#19

no one will be willing to volunteer, and deca will most likely have to change their stance on idlers or it will stay like this and trains will revert to their old meta

#21

It doesn’t have to be a volunteer-based system, exchanging pots for services could be considered.
There are plenty of people willing to AFK in nexus, and if it’s as safe as ArexRew says, it could be done.

#22

regardless of the method that will get people to afk, it still might be against tos so until deca clarifies what fame gaining methods are considered illegitimate then we can’t really be sure

#23

I say that if you know that you were exploiting the game, you know that other people were doing stuff that is against the ToS like hacking, you shouldn’t have the right to make an uproar about something you know that’s bad for the game.

Anyways, what’s the point of fame training right now anyways? The Fame Rework may or not may make our current Fame useless and make it sort of a Legacy Fame thing, some dungeons (Parasite Chambers, Ice Cave and Lost Halls) already give a hefty amount of Fame while playing the game normally, probably the rest of the dungeons will receive a rework to give a good amount of Fame according to the dungeon’s difficulty.

I feel like the entire Fame problem is mostly on the fame trainers, which apparently most-if not all of them, exploited the game and thus, went against the ToS, sure, there may be players that got hefty amounts of fame legitimately by maybe running a large amount of Halls in a Discord, and they are probably part of the uproar that occured when Deca announced some months ago that they would do a Fame Reset before clarifying it some days later.

But i feel a Fame Reset of sorts, like by making out current Fame something else (like a Legacy Leaderboard) while we would start at 0 fame basically would be the best option to make Fame relevant in our progression other than feeding our pets and some event fame boxes.

I kind of want there to be a legit & efficient option for those that do want to fametrain.
So that people who want to avoid cheating can get closer to top-tier fame gain and eventually hopefully causing less people feel like cheating is needed to be efficient with your time.

Less people cheating is better for the game, because this game is more fun when you don’t cheat and people will get bored with this game more slowly if they don’t cheat.
That would then lead to more people continuing to play this game and more revenue being available for better development.

#26

i usually just run parasite chambers and lost halls for fame and loot

#28

I’d maybe like the discussion about the ghost realm ban wave to be held elsewhere.

#29

DECA has confirmed that character fame will not be reset. Also, the current trains with idlers give way more fame than lh, para, and ice cave. The ghost realm things prolly gave lots more than idlers train too.

#30

K. On the topic of “legit” high eff trains, no of course not. Nobody would take their turn as a “guard”. Nobody wants to sit and do nothing. Someone could try a discord where you get banned if you skip your turn, but that would surely fail and people would either find more exploits, keep hacking or whatever or do lh. Not to mention the “fairness” of taking turns and everything.

Macros are in a grey area in the ToS. Repeatedly Deca Support has contradicted itself on what is definately permissible, but the consensus within our community is as follows:

It is not allowed if the macro:

  • affects the client’s code.
  • affects other players’ gameplay.
  • deviants from regular client output.

Whereas macros such as custom keybindings, auto switch items, or a more advanced script such as option presets have been historically supported by Deca and previous companies; the grey area exists when macros interact with in game chat, automate gameplay processes, or border on mirroring popular hacks, however ineffectively.

I’ve split the ghost realm discussion into its own topic: “Ghost Realm” discussion/PSA

if you’d like to talk about those, go to the new thread. from here on out let’s try stick to the topic Survivor wanted to talk about: “is it possible to have a legitimate and efficient fame train?”

sorry about the disruption

#74

No. You need at least 10 humans playing on idlers to clear gods as they may spawn, and those 10 people aren’t going to be thrilled about missing the fame from the train.

#75

An organised group certainly could do it.
One basic model would be a shift system so to earn 50mins on the train you need to first do 10mins as a guard (or a different ratio depending on numbers).

A more complicated model could involve payments/compensation from trainers to guards.

Though with realms being usually(!) public accessible, it would always be a victim of its success and freeloaders would inevitably join if it was more efficient than other f2fame routes.

It would ultimately depend on the motivation of the trainers/whoever was administering it, and having enough people who were interested/invested in the project.

#76

You can play on multiple accounts at the same time.

#78

The thing is those idlers need to NOT die, in order to do that they need to be able to aim at gods that may wander near them.

#79

I don’t think you’d find enough people who are interested in legit train anyway.

#80

This can be achieved with a good attack far/close and healing pet. These aren’t the days of Rob, Amit, and Alex anymore.

#81

??? a good pet isn’t going to help and no one’s gonna go about maxing pets on their idlers unless they’re using gold accounts

#82

A good pet can let you idle in god lands safely, and you can use those accounts to farm fame when not idling, and can then feed your pet items with the fame.

I’m not saying that this is what people do, that idle accounts don’t cheat, but I’m just giving an option that reputable players could take.
