*Blades are a very aggressive attack. Upon using them, you will charge your attack in place, preparing for a dash. The longer that you charge your ability, the harder your attack will hit. It will be a short range attack, but it will be enough to get lots of damage in when your ranged attacks are not working out as well.

As you charge forward, you will not traverse obstacles or teleport, but you will reach your destination very quickly. You will hit within a close range just once, or twice if fully charged. The second slash will always deal base damage. Slashes will always pierce enemies.

With multiple slashes, they will come out within a total time of half a second no matter what. You will also be invulnerable while you strike and when you charge, but not invincible, making you vulnerable to status effects and lava, so be careful!

Regarding animations: Animation #1 is idle, animation #2 and animation #3 are for walking on the occasion it is possible, animation #4 is charging, and animation #5 is firing for the charging animations.

Untiered Blades will utilize this effect, as well as the way Blades attack in ways that may not be too expected, and will be shown below.

Rainbow Blade of Legend:
This blade is much more meant for utility than actual damage, much like how the Midnight Star works for the Ninja. It takes slightly longer to charge overall, but if fully charged it will add on a full second of Paralyzed on top of Dazed and Slowed. Sacrificing so much damage make this a choice that is meant for alternatives. It also heals the user instead of giving Armored, in case it is ever necessary to quickly heal. It also gives 2 Speed and Dexterity, which can come in handy sometimes.

Blue Steel Breaker:
This blade is a powerhouse. It deals massive damage and even armor pierces, though it’s a bit riskier to charge due to it giving Armor Broken rather than Armored. Due to this, though, it gives Slowed instead of Paralyzed so you don’t immediately die. Charging it fully will also give it a full second of Armor Broken upon hitting an enemy, which makes it a unique way to apply the rare status effect while making it more of an option rather than a main usage. It removes Speed but gives Attack, which may help with hitting harder.

Candy Blade:
This is a very rapid-fire blade that is more meant to hit a lot of targets rather than do a lot of damage. Due to the fact that it can have up to 8 slashes, it can overall do much more damage, but it will suffer a very hard drop of DPS due to it having up to those 8 slashes. If used correctly, this can also be used for rushing due to it giving Speedy as it charges, though it does give Sick, so be cautious! It also gives 5 Speed, which can be very useful in rushing as well.

Twin Fated Blade
This is essentially the Demon Blade of Blades. It will fire off two slashes at one time rather than one, with a gap between the two due to them firing at different angles. If you’re very careful you can hit both at once, but you are not invulnerable while firing, so it will be hard to be able to properly hit them without getting hit more than likely. It also gives a small Wisdom and Vitality buff, which can be useful if you do not have a pet.

Frigid Bow:
This bow sacrifices a lot of its normal damage, a bit of range, and a whole shot in exchange for the same Fire Rate as the Coral Bow, and the unique ability to ignore defense. This makes it capable of things that others aren’t at much higher defenses, and is a swapout for that reason.

Blade of Frozen Corruption:
Rather than slashing directly in front of the user, it will do a 360 spiral much like Link does in games such as Ocarina of Time. It also causes Curse for 1.5 seconds, though it comes with a Cooldown and less damage than other blades, making it much more for crowd control. It also gives a bit of Speed.

Icy Prison Leather:
This armor has similarities to that of the Armor of Nil, giving high Defense while taking away stats. However, in exchange for 2 Defense it gives 20 HP, and instead of giving -2 Dexterity and -2 Speed, it gives -7 Speed. This makes it more difficult to maneuver around, but makes it easier to tank hits.

Remnants of the Unwilling:
This ring is not necessarily too powerful per se, but it does come with its benefits. Due to the fact it gives 7 Speed while also giving Health and Defense, this can be a nice swapout for rushing on a class that doesn’t need the MP increase of the Twilight Gemstone.

Moved to Classes for obvious reasons.
Edit: Changed the skin colors and fixed a positioning issue for the charging animation.
Edit #2: Added the Unwilling Seeker set.
Edit #3: Slight changes to stats, some description changes, and a better explanation of how attacking with the ability works. (Thanks to @MarchStar)
Edit #4: Made the “Charge” sheet much better.

#2

From what I’ve read the ability seems to be something like this one (https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Blade_Flurry). If that is the case an ability like that just doesn’t fit the game at all. Staying stationary and being stunned in a bullet hell game where you are supposed to constantly move is not a great idea. I love the concept and the class it self but the ability needs to be changed.

#3

To use the ability, you don’t have to actually use the Held Effect. You can just press the spacebar, and it’ll use the basic version of the ability. Using the charge is strategic, and you get a benefit from doing so.

#4

idk why but it reminds me of a duck

#5

I originally planned to use a pale-ish Red, but it clashed with the brown, so I used this green instead.

Also, what you’re thinking of is a Mallard. they’re quite handsome tbh

#6

mallard = handsome sexy shit

i wished they can be skins instead

#10

Really nice spriting and balancing, but how does find a place in rotmg?

#11

It’s not really entirely based around anything, so it’s hard to say.

#12

@JohnMH
I honestly love this idea!

But what happens if you charge into… say… Bes’s entire shotgun? Do you have invulnerability during your dash?

And a few changes…

Maybe reduce the attack, because we already have two bow classes with 75 att. I would say 65 att and boost the dex to 70

I input the bow stats on pfiffel and it’s beaten by coral bow until 43 def, and by that time most competent archers/huntresses would use a doom bow. I’m not saying make the bow game changing, but make it special in some way…

Also change the wording of the T4 blade description. Change “caves infested with many gems” to “gem infested caves”

Change T5 description from “originate with a curse of sorts” to “originate from a curse of sorts”

You seem to like your modifiers lmao… Change the description for the Candy Blade. Omit “fairly”

That’s about it, the rest looks nice and balanced. Overall 9/10 Good Job

#13
  • You are invulnerable as you strike, but not after. So you have to be careful.
  • Changed up the stats to reflect your suggestion.
  • The bow is meant to do that. It has lower DPS than at 0 Defense but when it beats it out, its DPS remains the same. It’s meant for higher defense enemies when you might want to hit more frequently.
  • Descriptions changed to reflect your suggestions.

#14

Thank you for clearing that up.

I guess I can see the niche that this could fill…

#15

This idea looks good and all at the same time questioning paralyze to self It just me tbh xd

#16

That’s only when you’re charging it up, not actually charging. This is to make it more risky to use, making it a gained benefit and not just something you stall out.

#17

don’t want things to die here so uh

bump?

Oh, and I made updates too. Just a couple, nothing major.

#18

Very, very similar to the ability of my class on “phalanx class” Imo

Obviating that, the sickle and the unwilling leather needs a little touch up in design and colors, not to mention the STRONK shading.
For the rest, it’s pretty good.
7/10

#19

I’m not really sure how the two relate in any sense. Mine is literally just a hold down to increase effectiveness and release to straight up charge forward super fast to hit an enemy, while yours pushes back enemies. I should know, I literally made a review for your class.

Shading, eh… I can maybe get behind that thought. Saying “pretty good” doesn’t really help with improvement though, as nice as the compliment is.

#20

yes that thing
