The Swarm Colony cannot move. Once it detects a player, it will begin firing a large amount of parametric shots that fly around it erratically, inflicting Quiet to players hit. In addition, it will target the nearest player with a tight spread of bone-like shots.
The Swarm Colony is permanently invulnerable until being hit with an Explosive Barrel. Once it hits half health, it will go invulnrable again, requiring another Barrel to break its invulnerability. In addition, due to its DEF of 2000, using a barrel to break its armor is the main way to make it take reasonable damage.
Out of all the colonies, this is the only one able to directly fire at players. Being caught in its storm of parametric projectiles can incur large amounts of damage, so it is advised to stay outside their range and attack. The colony will attack with a directed shotgun as well, so be aware of that.
Hit the colony with Explosive Barrels whenever possible. Not only are they required to drop its invulnerability, they also break its armor and allow players to bypass its ridiculous defense while doing a fair amount of damage themselves.
