###Why & How to find the Crawling Depths
####Why

This dungeon is the best of three epic dungeons, because it is one of the few sources of mana and also has 5 chances of getting soulbound drop in the boss room. All big eggs have chances to drop t10-t12 armor and t10-t11 weapons, and the boss itself can drop the highest tiered equipment in the game. In addition, all eggs and the boss have chances to drop a powerful UT katana Doku No Ken and a Wine Cellar Incantation.

Although, it has only one guaranteed mana drop, so calling out this dungeon is not a good idea because it will decrease the chance of getting the drop from boss, but will increase the probability of activating the boss too early making the battle very dangerous.

####How

The dungeon is a guaranteed drop from the Lucky Djinn, but can also be purchased in the nexus for 100 gold (price varies).

The best way to search this dungeon is to enter small fresh realms. When you enter fresh realm first, you have a chance to see one of three quests: Red Demon, Lucky Ent or Lucky Djinn. If you see one of the first two quests, you could either kill them (will take some time) or try to teleport to another spawn point or re-enter the realm to spawn in the different place (this could change the quest).

Lucky Djinn tend to spawn mostly in the south area of godlands, sometimes it will spawn near cyclops castle surrounded by deep blue water. Make sure to have a trickster or planewalker rogue around to enter the dungeon.

Take extra caution trying to teleport to someone near Lucky Djinn: sometimes there are lots of gods around it and it also could explode right on top of you like any other normal djinn.

###Navigating through the dungeon

This dungeon has no dead-ends and wrong turns, all rooms are connected to each other in one chain. The safest way to pass the dungeon is to clear small spiders along with breaking only those small green eggs which block the path. Sometimes it's better to clear a safe room to lure bigger spiders and to take them down quickly. Turn your autofire off and to try dodge most of the bullets. The last room: always clear it and then break the whole web only if you sure that other players will not activate the boss early. You could use this room to retreat in case of danger.

Rushing this dungeon could be very risky on most classes. If you are rushing be sure to avoid armor broken and don't break the small green eggs. If you rushing with a rogue, it's possible to enter the boss room without clearing the last room (which is not safe, but saves time). If you are rushing on any other class, always clear the last room before calling. It's better to call people in the last room before breaking the web to prevent disorientation and activating the boss by an accident. Take extra care teleporting to a rusher because very often they don't clear the last room and those spiders will attack you even if you don't move.

###Minions

Crawling Grey Spiders: chase you in a pattern very similar to manor's Hellhounds, shoot armor broken projectiles, which could be deadly combined with other attacks. They shoot only one big slow bullet, avoid it at all costs.

Crawling Grey Spotted Spiders: chase you very quickly, jump on you along with shooting high damage bullets without status effects. Try to lure them to a safe room and kill quickly.

Crawling Green Spiders: shoot at you with bleeding rain which spreads similar to the multi-arrow bow, but from a distance closer to dagger range. Just move right and left to dodge these shots.

Crawling Red Spotted Spiders: always come in groups of 3-4 spiders, shoot at you with high damage bleeding red stars . Move right and left to dodge these shots.

Crawling Spider Hatchlings: spawn from the small green eggs if you shoot them or if you come at the distance of 1 tile. Their shots inflict weak and quiet and sometimes they stack enough to hurt a lot even with maxed def (and also could insta-kill a fresh unmaxed character), so it's a good idea to break only one green egg at a time and dodge all these shots.

##The Boss

###Son of Arachna

Son of Arachna

To enter the boss room you need to break the web. The boss will stay inactive as long as you stay near the wall. There are 4 big eggs near the walls. To make the batlle easier you have to destroy all these eggs. Each Egg Sac spawns enemies after destroying and also removes a different attack pattern from the boss:

Silver Son of Arachna Giant Egg Sac

This one is located south-east, spawns Crawling Grey Spiders and removes armor broken shot from the boss when destroyed;

Red Son of Arachna Giant Egg Sac

This one is located north-east, spawns Crawling Red Spotted Spider and removes red bleeding shot from the boss when destroyed;

Blue Son of Arachna Giant Egg Sac

This one is located north-west, spawns Crawling Spider Hatchlings and removes the big quiet bullet from the boss along with changing his movement pattern. His speed slows down and he acts more like Arachna.

Yellow Son of Arachna Giant Egg Sac

This one is located south-west, spawns all type of spiders before breaking, but no enemies after destroying the egg. The boss will stay invunerable and will shoot a big paralyzing yellow bullet until this egg is destroyed, so this is the only one which is required to break for killing the boss.

The safest strategy for taking down the eggs is to start from the right and continue moving counter-clockwise. The egg order will be: Silver->Red->Blue->Yellow. Remember to 'hug' the wall, staying as far from the boss as possible. Move left-right to dodge small shots from the little blue spiders and use your full range to attack Egg Sacs, but don't destroy them completely: keep track on their hp bars, then stop shooting and leave 5% hp on each. Each egg has a chance to drop good loot (eve a white bag), but if you move closer to pick up the item, it would activate the boss, so don't break the eggs until you'll weak almost all of them. When you reach the last egg (yellow), don't leave 5% hp, just destroy it as soon as possible to prevent spawning spiders. If you get a drop from this egg, don't pick it up immediately, quickly go clockwise and finish the blue egg first to slow down the boss before picking up the loot. If you use a high speed class, you should be able to finish all big eggs before picking up any loot dropped from them. Prefered order to finish all big eggs after taking down the yellow is blue->red->silver.

###Class tips

- Assassin: it's not a good idea to use your poison to help clearing the dungeon, it will break too many small green eggs, making the clearing more dangerous. Also use poison with extra caution in the boss room while clearing eggs.
- Sorcerer: don't use your scepter until you'll clear all the eggs in the boss room.
- Archer: don't aim quiver to the center of the boss room until you'll clear all the eggs.
- Trickster: decoy will not wake up the boss, but use teleport with caution to prevent breaking too many smaller eggs. Send a decoy using a high tier prism during the boss fight to push him to the wall, then stand to the center of the web and shoot the boss.
- Wizard: don't use spellbombs during the clearing or on bigger eggs if you can't aim them right to the 'sweet spot' to land all the shots. Even one missed shot could accidentally wake the boss.
- All dagger classes: bone dagger is very good for clearing the smaller eggs in the dungeon and in the boss room. Use the highest range dagger to kill the boss safely.
","{{template-last-updated|updated={{template-release|exaltVersion=1.4.0.0}}}}

Contents

How

Loot

Layout

Enemies

Boss

Overview

How to find The Crawling Depths

[The Crawling Depths](/wiki/the-crawling-depths) is guaranteed to drop from the [Sting Spider](/wiki/sting-spider), a rare enemy found within the [Mountains](/wiki/mountains).

The Crawling Depths Key () can also be purchased in the [Nexus](/wiki/nexus) for {{template-gold|amount=100}}.

Finding The Crawling Depths quickly and efficiently can be achieved through finding a semi-empty [Realm](/wiki/the-realm) and running around the Mountains until a Sting Spider is spotted. This task is best performed on fast and/or resilient classes such as [Warrior](/wiki/warrior), [Rogue](/wiki/rogue) or [Ninja](/wiki/ninja). However be sure to tread carefully, as minor [god walls](/wiki/rotmg-slang-to-english#G) can still form.

Loot and Purpose

The Crawling Depths is a reliable source of Defense, Wisdom and Mana, dropping a guaranteed [Greater Potion of Defense](/wiki/greater-potion-of-defense), [Greater Potion of Wisdom](/wiki/greater-potion-of-wisdom) and [Potion of Mana](/wiki/potion-of-mana) for a minimum of two people. The dungeon also holds the UT [Doku No Ken](/wiki/doku-no-ken) as well as two STs, the [Symbiotic Ripper](/wiki/symbiotic-ripper) and [Rags of the Host](/wiki/rags-of-the-host).

The [Doku No Ken](/wiki/doku-no-ken) is one of two [white bags](/wiki/loot-containers) from The Crawling Depths. It is a mid-to-late game [katana](/wiki/katanas) with a unique proc functioning similar to a poison. Dropping from the boss, the [Son of Arachna](/wiki/son-of-arachna), all four boss eggs and within the treasure room from [Glowing Eggs](/wiki/glowing-egg), this item is not too rare.

The [Mace of the Depths](/wiki/mace-of-the-depths) is a unique [mace](/wiki/maces) which has the same drop locations as the Doku No Ken. Unlike any other mace, it has the ability to inflict {{template-slowed}} with the downfall (or benefit depending on the situation) of circling the summon location. With this being the only mace to inflict a status effect, it grants the [Summoner](/wiki/summoner) some utility, deeming it a worthwhile swapout to carry.

The [Symbiotic Ripper](/wiki/symbiotic-ripper) and [Rags of the Host](/wiki/rags-of-the-host) are two pieces of the [Flesh Collector Set](/wiki/flesh-collector-set), an [ST set](/wiki/set-tier-items) for the [Assassin](/wiki/assassin). Both pieces drop from the Son of Arachna and Glowing Eggs.

The Crawling Depths is arguably one of the best sources for [stat increase potions](/wiki/stat-increase-potions) due to the frequency and varitey of drops.

The following is a table of notable drops from each enemy (if any):

Enemy

Item/s

Son of Arachna

{{template-mark|mark=Mark of the Son of Arachna}}

Glowing Egg

Blue Son of Arachna Giant Egg Sac

Green Son of Arachna Giant Egg Sac

Red Son of Arachna Giant Egg Sac

Silver Son of Arachna Giant Egg Sac

Layout and Navigation Throughout the Dungeon

The Crawling Depths dungeon layout follows a singular chain of rooms with no wrong turns and no dead ends. Each room is roughly circular and contains various obstacles and [Egg Sacs](/wiki/crawling-depths-egg-sac). The ground contains continuous channels of web, which slow the players movement when standing in (comparable to water).

Rushing this dungeon is easier than most for its level of difficulty (harder than the [Woodland Labyrinth](/wiki/woodland-labyrinth) however easier than the [Mountain Temple](/wiki/mountain-temple)). The rusher must do their best to avoid getting caught on the webs or inflicted with {{template-slowed}} or {{template-armor-broken}}, inflicted by the [Crawling Weaver Spider](/wiki/crawling-weaver-spider) and [Crawling Grey Spotted Spider](/wiki/crawling-grey-spotted-spider) / [Crawling Goliath Spider](/wiki/crawling-goliath-spider) respectively, as these can almost always result in close calls or death.

A treasure room is not guaranteed to be encountered; when it is encountered however, it will replace one of the rooms on the path to the boss. It will be filled entirely with [Glowing Eggs](/wiki/glowing-egg), however loot from these treasure rooms is quite scarce, due to the low drop rates presented by the Glowing Eggs.

Enemies

The [Crawling Depths Egg Sac](/wiki/crawling-depths-egg-sac) is home to all of the lesser cave spiders within the dungeon, when it is killed or a player comes within a roughly two tile radius multiple spiders corresponding with its colour will spawn, i.e.

- Blue: [Crawling Spider Hatchling](/wiki/crawling-spider-hatchling)
- Green: [Crawling Green Spider](/wiki/crawling-green-spider)
- Red: [Crawling Red Spotted Spider](/wiki/crawling-red-spotted-spider)
- Grey: [Crawling Grey Spider](/wiki/crawling-grey-spider)
- Grey (Pink Spots): [Crawling Grey Spotted Spider](/wiki/crawling-grey-spotted-spider)

The [Crawling Spider Hatchling](/wiki/crawling-spider-hatchling) and [Crawling Hunter Spider](/wiki/crawling-hunter-spider) are the least deadly of the five spider types, inflicting {{template-quiet}} with their attacks. The Crawling Spider Hatchling is the weakest of all spiders within the dungeon and is easily killed. The Crawling Hunter Spider slowly chases players, firing 3-5 shot shotguns of quieting shots.

The [Crawling Green Spider](/wiki/crawling-green-spider) and [Crawling Weaver Spider](/wiki/crawling-weaver-spider) are the aggressors of the spider types. The Crawling Green Spider will quickly rush at players, firing 2 to 3 shot spreads of bullets that inflict {{template-bleeding}}. The Crawling Weaver Spider is much more deadly, firing bursts of shots that inflicts {{template-slowed}} aswell as a more damaging, targetted shot which applies {{template-bleeding}}.

The [Crawling Red Spotted Spider](/wiki/crawling-red-spotted-spider) and [Crawling Creeper Spider](/wiki/crawling-creeper-spider) are the designated bleeders of the 5 spider types. Both of the spiders will keep their distance, firing rings/bursts of {{template-bleeding}} shots.

The [Crawling Grey Spider](/wiki/crawling-grey-spider) and [Crawling Stalker Spider](/wiki/crawling-stalker-spider) are the damage dealers of the 5 spider groups, dealing pure damage with no added inflictions. Both spiders will charge at the closest player, shooting high speed projectiles that deal more damage than all other spiders' attacks.

The [Crawling Grey Spotted Spider](/wiki/crawling-grey-spotted-spider) and [Crawling Goliath Spider](/wiki/crawling-goliath-spider) are two of the deadliest spiders within the dungeon, both inflicting {{template-armor-broken}} with their attacks. The Crawling Grey Spotted Spider can be dealt with rather easily, however the Crawling Goliath Spider quickly rushes at players in intervals while firing arrows of shots, making it much more dangerous. These are best dealt with by dragging them into a previously cleared room, avoiding ground webs wherever possible; as if combined with {{template-slowed}} or webs, these can be particularly nefarious.

[Glowing Eggs](/wiki/glowing-egg) are mainly found within the treasure room of The Crawling Depths however can also spawn randomly within regular rooms at a low rate. These are indicated on the map by a yellow dot and have a yellowy-gold shadow colour. Many of these will spawn within the treasure room if you are lucky enough to encounter it.

The Son of Arachna

The [Son of Arachna](/wiki/son-of-arachna) is the boss of [The Crawling Depths](/wiki/the-crawling-depths). He is found is large circular room that can be accessed through breaking 4 webbed walls located at the bottom of the room.

Located within the boss room will be the Son of Arachna in the center, four coloured eggs at each four "corners," and multiple [Crawling Depths Egg Sacs](/wiki/crawling-depths-egg-sac) littering the outskirts of the room.

The boss fight will start when a player approaches the center of the room, upon which the Son of Arachna will activate. He will alternate between vulnerable and invulerable throughout the fight, as each time an egg is destroyed, he will become vulnerable for about 1/4 of his health each time.

More information of the Son of Arachna's behaviour can be found [here](/wiki/son-of-arachna#combat).

Giant Egg Sacs

Each fight, a random egg will be selected to be "webbed," meaning that egg can only be destroyed after all other eggs have been destroyed. Destroying an egg will alter the Son of Arachna's behaviour and projectiles depending on its colour.

Destroying the [Blue Son of Arachna Giant Egg Sac](/wiki/blue-son-of-arachna-giant-egg-sac) will remove the {{template-energized}} status effect from the Son of Arachna, preventing him from spawning greater cave spiders. Destroying this egg will also remove the Son of Arachna's blue quieting projectile.

Destroying the [Green Son of Arachna Giant Egg Sac](/wiki/green-son-of-arachna-giant-egg-sac) will remove the {{template-speedy}} status effect from the Son of Arachna, greatly slowing his speed. Destroying this egg will also remove the Son of Arachna's green slowing projectile.

Destroying the [Red Son of Arachna Giant Egg Sac](/wiki/red-son-of-arachna-giant-egg-sac) will remove the {{template-damaging}} status effect from the Son of Arachna, removing Armor Piercing from all his projectiles. Destroying this egg will also remove the Son of Arachna's red Bleeding projectile.

Destroying the [Silver Son of Arachna Giant Egg Sac](/wiki/silver-son-of-arachna-giant-egg-sac) will remove the {{template-armored}} status effect from the Son of Arachna, reducing his defense by 1/3. Destroying this egg will also remove the Son of Arachna's purple exposing projectile.

If the opportunity presents itself, it is advised to destroy the blue or green egg first, followed by the red or silver egg. Destroying the blue or green egg first is advised to remove the opportunity for any greater cave spiders to spawn within the boss room or prevent players from being easily run over due to the constant slow most players will be afflicted by respectively.

Overview

[The Crawling Depths](/wiki/the-crawling-depths) is a high-risk, high-reward dungeon that has the potential to drop multiple [stat increase potions](/wiki/stat-increase-potions) each time along with powerful mid-to-late game equipment which can carry characters through many endgame dungeons. The dungeon can be completed quickly and efficiently with a decently sized group along with a rusher, making it a worthwhile option when pot farming.

Back to top"],[[],[]]);initializeCookieConsentBanner("e");
