The Septaract is an Event Boss that occurs upon defeating 3 Pentaracts within 1 realm.
Unlike the Pentaract, there is only 1 tower that is present in the whole event.

It spawns Septaract Eyes and the Omniract Eye.

Behaviour

The Omniract Eye is one of the most formidable Event Bosses in the Realm. Coupled with the most lethal of shots and minions that do extremely high damage, taking it down can be an absolute pain.

On the vision phase, it chases players away (at a manageable speed) from the Watchtower to protect it. It doesn’t stray too far from the tower, which means that it can’t be dragged away or distracted for too long.

Behaviour

Septaract Eyes orbit both the Watchtower and then Omniract Eye for most of the battle, only leaving that position when they have taken a lot of damage and on specific chase phases.

They’re movement speed and shot pattern is extremely fast so it is advised to keep ones distance.

Phases:

Observance 1533588726595_dots 1533585312439_dots

The Watchtower will spawn seven Septaract Eyes which will move to 5.25 squares away from the tower and begin to orbit it. Whilst this happens the tower will fire radial bursts of 7 rich Purple Shield shots quite often to prevent players from sitting on/near the tower. Whilst the Septaract Eyes are orbiting, the Watchtower will launch Purple Bolt projectiles at the nearest player at a frequency of every 2 seconds.

1533551984094_dots - Purple Shield
4QnmswK - Purple Bolt

  • Septaract Eyes orbit at 0.75 revolution (s)/seconds when they are at 5.25 squares asay from the tower.
  • Every 8 revolutions (6 seconds) the Septaract Eyes will spiral inward to the Watchtower (which takes 2.4 seconds) and then sprial back out.
  • Septaract Eyes will rapidly spray Thin Bolt projectiles that predict the players movement.
  • When 80% of a Septaract Eyes’ health has been taken it will become invulnerable.

1533551984152_dots - Thin Bolt

Piercing Looks 1533588737197_dots 1533585312439_dots

Once all 7 or the Septaract Eyes become invulnerable, they will closely surround the Watchtower (at 0.5 squares) and heal themselves up to full health. When they’ve finished regenrating their lost health they will chase players extremely quickly whilst firing radial bursts of 7 Eye Blasts that will slow players. They also fire Purple Tears at a far lower frequency. For the entire phase, both the Watchtower and the Septaract Eyes will become invulnerable.
The duration of this phase is 14 seconds of pure survival for participating players. (The Eyeballs can travel at unreal speeds in this phase, and are able to stray far away from the Watchtower so it would be wise to just run before they’ve finished regenrating their lost HP).

1533585312602_dots - Purple Tear

Cry 1533588734015_dots 1533585312439_dots

After the Piercing Looks phase is complete the Septaract Eyes will once again orbit the Watchtower, but now at 3.5 squares away and will travel at 1.25 revolution(s)/second. They will then become Armored and will not attack, however the Watchtower will start hurling out Purple Bombs and White bombs.
It will simultaneously shoot a 7-armed spiral of P-Bolts in an anticlockwise orientation. Once the Tower has taken 20% damage, it will be pushed into its next phase.

The Overseer 1533588729389_dots 1533585312439_dots

In this phase the Watchtower will continue to throw both the White and Purple Bombs at players and will still have the 7-arm spiral firing from it. In addition the rich Purple Shield shots will fire at every time they are fired and returned. The Septaract Eyes will chase players firing 3 Purple Tears (arc gap: 20°) every 3 seconds and rapidly spraying the Thin Bolts every 0.3 seconds.
This time the Septaract Eyes will only be able to stray 14 tiles away from the Watchtower, so they don’t get dragged onto other players who aren’t interested in participating. If a Septaract Eye’s HP drops below 30%, it will become invulnerable and Petrified until the Watchtower reaches 50% HP.

Vision 1533588738536_dots 1533593178788_dots 1533585312439_dots

This phase the Omniract Eye will actually leave the Watchtower to give the tower an “empty eye-socket” aesthetic.
The tower will become armored and the Omniract will be orbited by the Septaract Eyes at a constant distance of 5.25 squares.
The Septaract eyes will be armored whilst the Omniract eye will be invulnerable.
The Omniract slowly chases players and defends the tower, never straying away beyond 7 tiles from it so it cannot be dragged to leave the tower exposed.
This means that - although it is risky - players must surround the Watchtower to deal as much damage as possible (deal enough to get it down to 35% HP) to make the Omniract Eye vulnerable.
When the Omniract Eye becomes vulnerable, the Watchtower does the opposite and becone invulnerable - allowing for players to attack it. If the player have not already taken out some of the Septaract Eyes, they will need to concentrate their firepower on them to make this part less hectic and create more weak spots.

  • The Tower will alternate between firing radial bursts of it’s Light Shield projectiles and Magic Shield projectiles every 2 seconds.

1533585312216_dots - Light Shield
1533585312459_dots - Magic Shield

  • The Omniract Eye will fire 2 of it’s Omnipotent Bolt Projectiles (with an arc gap of 15°), a single Omnipotent Shield simultaneously and then switch phase where it travels 20% faster than normal and unleashes a devastating spray of Omnipotent Tears (which predict player movement) and Omnipotent Matter (which is shot directly at players). - These phases are alternated between each other every 7 seconds.

1533585312077_dots - Omnipotent Tear
1533585312379_dots - Omnipotent Matter

  • The Septaract Eyes cannot be killed in this phase, but they can be deactivated again if they are damaged to the point where they reach below 20% HP, they then become Armored and Petrified until pushed to the next phase.

Behold! image

The Septaract Eyes and the Omniract Eye will return to the Watchtower and disappear.

The Tower will the begin to rapidly spurt out an abundance of Bombs and will have a 7-arm spiral which alternates direction every 10.5 seconds.

Every time a player is hit with a purple bomb the tower will heal for 140 HP so it is advised to not get hit and take it down to the remaining 21% of it’s health. Once it reaches 21% or below it will be pushed to it’s final phase.

Omnipotence 1533588738536_dots 1533593178788_dots 1533585312439_dots

The tower will flash purple 7 times and then Spawn back the Septaract Eyes and the Omniract Eye. It will now become invulnerable.
The Septaract Eyes will share particle lines which create a septagram. every 7 seconds they will heal each other for 35 HP so players must kill them quickly.

  • Again the Tower will the rapidly spurt out an abundance of Bombs and will have a 7-arm spiral which alternates diraction every 7 seconds.

  • Every time a player is hit with a purple bomb the tower will heal for 70 HP.

1533585312170_dots - P-Bolt

The Omniract Eye will orbit 7 squares away from the Watchtower whilst being orbited by the Septaract Eyes itself.

  • The Omniract Eye will fire 2 of it’s Omnipotent Bolt Projectiles (with an arc gap of 15°), a single Omnipotent Shield simultaneously and then switch phase and unleash a devastating spray of Omnipotent Tears (which predict player movement) and Omnipotent Matter (which is shot directly at players). - These phases are alternated between each other every 7 seconds.

1533585312077_dots - Omnipotent Tear
1533585312379_dots - Omnipotent Matter

The Septaract Eyes will alternate between spraying heaps of Thin Bolts and they will emit 2 Eye Blasts (with the arcbgap: 140°) that will slow players. They also fire Purple Tears at a far lower frequency. - These phases will alternate every 14 seconds.

  • Septaract Eyes will orbit the Omniract Eye at a constant distance of 5.25 squares.

1533585312512_dots - Eye Blast
1533585312602_dots - Purple Tear

  • The Watchtower will be invulnerable so long as the Omniract Eyenis alive.
  • The Omniract Eye will be invulnerable so long as all Septaract Eyes are alive.
  • This is the only phase where these can be killed.

The way to complete this phase is to destroy all of the Septaract Eyes first by focusing firepower on individuals as they heal each other for 35 HP, but in the full Septagram, the most HP they could be gaining per 7 seconds is 210 HP as they receive healing from 6 others while they’re all alive.
Once all of them have been killed then Omniract Eye will become vulnerable and dart towards players whilst firing a stream of alernating Omnipotent Tears and Omnipotent Matter whilst simultaneously firing 1 Omnipotent Shield and 2 Omnipotent Bolt projectiles (with the arc gap: 15°).

After the players have taken it down, the Watchtower will become vulnerable and armored and continue to fire the 7-arm spiral and throw bombs.

Upon death Oryx will taunt: "An Eye for an Eye…"

looks cool but im gonna say you wont be seeing any black bags anytime soon

#3

I know that :joy:. Just thought black bags looked cool…so I put it there

#4

Pretty nice, would like to eventually see the item stats, boss seems to integrate both teamwork fighting and yet keeping the ability to be soloed pretty well, although it would still be super freaking hard to solo

#5

#6

@Septagram don’t even know if you even play anymore

#7

Deca needs to hire you

#8

Yeah, they’re LT weapons…just imagine that they’re UT and there’s no special way of obtaining them. :joy::smile:

#9

Just pointing this out.

This comes across as lazy to me, considering most bosses can be cursed/exposed.

Considering these things move at a high rate of speed it seems a rather absurdly high amount of HP to be considered feasible.

image
As much as I thoroughly enjoy this lootbag (it looks great), is it necessary?

All that being said, this is a very well put together event idea.
I enjoyed reading this even though I hardly come to forums or play realm anymore. Cheers! :beers:

#10

Creating topics on a phone can “benan absolute pain” too. :joy:

I was aiming for this to be like the “Void Enitity” of the Realm, so no status effects could be induced upon it.

You have a point, however in the phases where they can chase, they have restrictions to them. (Range from Watchtower and time limit).
The other phases are mostly spent orbiting around the two main bosses and ranged classes will have no problem combatting them.

Lol, no. :joy:

Thanks man, much love for taking time to read this and highlight anything you thought needed attention.:+1:

#11

This looks awesome, great job. I assume it would not be necessary to kill this to close the realm, though, right? Seems a lot more annoying than an avatar or sentry. Oh, and 7% of 140,000 is 9800, I believe, 4,200 is 3%.

#12

Thank you

Yes, otherwise, like the Beeheemoth Event - not many players would be inclined to participate.

Definitely, a high amount of HP and some devastating shots.

You’re right! My mistake, sorry, I’ll amend that. Thanks for pointing that out :+1:

#13

An hour spent on making this, just to help you guys visualize what it’s like :slightly_smiling_face:

#14

Accurate. :+1:

#15

rip @Niegil, he died so young

#16

Beautiful sprites. All in all well done job. 9.5/10

#17

Inaccurate, my grave should be 8/8

#18

Every time I see your work, the sprites always stand out to me. I can see the hard work you put into this. Great job, and keep up the good work!

#19

Probably because I create the sprites first and build the idea around the aesthetics of the sprite.
Basically, the sprite is the backbone/foundation of my ideas, so I won’t stop trying to make it perfect in my own eyes.

Thank you, although it was unplanned.

Fun Fact:
The only reason I actually decided to make this is because I looked at my profile picture - which I chose a few months ago -and thought: “What if there was like an ‘anti’ Pentaract?” and if you hadn’t noticed, I changed the ‘Name’ option to:

(Because my favourite number is Seven)

And that’s basically why I decided to do it, I just started the topic for no reason and uploaded it after working on it for 1 day and a half…:man_facepalming:t5::man_shrugging:t5::joy:

Thank you so much man.
More good work will be on its way after I come back from holiday…a whole dungeon which I may need to transfer to Google Documents as I’m assuming that the Wordcount is too high.

:v:t5::relieved:
