Oryx the Mad God 2 (Rev. 8)

Last updated: 11.1.0

Galactic serfs! My 75000 HP will annihilate you!

The true Mad God, clocking in at 75000 HP, an instant-kill shotgun, warrior-grade armor, and an army of minions, Oryx is back to seek revenge for all the embarrassing losses, and most importantly to get you goat-herders out of his Wine Cellar.

This is one of Realm's endgame encounters. The most powerful boss of the game. Maxed characters have fallen in an instant. Foolishness will only bring your own annihilation. Proceed only if you have the most confidence known to realm-kind.

Pathetic worms, my 3900-damage shotgun will crush you into a paste!
The shotgun will kill you if you absorb all or most of the stars.

Behavior

Initially, Oryx slowly wanders in the room, firing bullets and proteted by Henchmen and other spawned enemies. Oryx can be pushed by approaching players.

At 22500 HP remaining. He will taunt, "Can't... keep... henchmen... alive... anymore! ARGHHH!!!". All Henchmen die and Oryx stops spawning them. He begins firing circles of weakening and quieting stars along with his shotgun, and begins to slowly chase nearby players.

Tips and Strategies

Rogue Tips: Leave before you turn visible! If you are a rogue you should run next to Oryx, stay for about 3 seconds (assuming you have a cloak that is Twilight or up) then go back so that you don't get shotgunned by Oryx! Getting slowed could mean that you are unable to get out of the range of Oryx's shotgun when you decloak.

Circling tips: When circling Oryx 2, always circle clockwise, getting confused while circling counter-clockwise will send you charging into Oryx's Shotgun.

Assassin Tips: Assassins are usually the best class to use in a Wine Cellar, as they have their poison. You need a Nightwing at least, and maxing your stats will also help you. Throw one poison at Oryx, then throw another one. This would give you a very high chance of a soulbound bag.

Priest Tips: When Oryx still has his minions, use your crystal wand to attack. Once he reaches 22k HP, use a Wand of Recompense or Conducting Wand for heavier damage and more range. Use a Tome of Purification so when you take a status effect, you can neutralize it. Don't forget to heal your allies!

Knight Tips: Try to dodge the status effect stars and run in and stun. Running in a straight line towards O2 won't be a very good idea. Try to circle Inward to close the distance and stun. Make sure to have a lot of MP wine or MP potions so you can keep stunning! Make sure to run out BEFORE the stun wears out. But be careful, a missed stun can mean death!

Wizard Tips: Sometimes Oryx will get pinned to a wall. You can go to the other side of the wall and shoot your spell. This is recommended when the wine cellar contains few people, and when most of the minions in the hallways of the cellar have been cleared out.
