  • Condition Effect: Silence for 5 seconds
  • Ignores Armor

Giant Essence Star

  • Damage: 200
  • Speed: 1
  • Range: 30
  • Condition Effect: Sick for 5 seconds

Behavior

Once you enter the room the Heart of terror resides in, several Assassin drones and Droids will swarm GM-127, firing and warn of the compromised elite unit.

Taunt: “Compromised elite unit, Exercise extreme caution!”
Taunt: “Prevent DP-127 from exiting at all costs.”
Taunt: “Bleep.”

DP-127 will release a shockwave of spectral pain daggers, killing all the Assassin units. It will taunt and wait 5 seconds before starting the battle

Taunt: “You see me tainted, but I have achieved true enlightenment OR-75 could only dream of!”

First Phase 100% HP

DP-127 fires small waves of silver shields while following the closest player for 10 seconds, then moves to the center of the room and shoots spectral pain daggers for 5 seconds, and then repeating.

Second Phase 75% HP

Taunt: “Others have seen the truth of our existence, they will aid us until they have seen their last glimpse of light!”

DP-127 summons 5 compromised Assassin Droids and drones (Who will attack you) and will shoot fire bolts in a X pattern every second. This phase will continue until all Assassin units are dead. GM-127 will also be invulnerable during this phase.

Third Phase 75% HP

Taunt: “Yet you deny reality, how cute.”

two more compromised Assassin droids will be summoned to fight for DP-127, while they are not necessary to kill, it’s important to kill them as to not get overwhelmed. DP-127 will fire a rotating light of Spectral pain daggers a full 360 degrees, then stop for 4 seconds before repeating this action.

Fourth Phase 50% HP

Taunt: " Perhaps this will fill the VOID in your mind."

DP-127 releases Giant essence stars, which will circle around for a long while before disappearing. It pursues the closest player at a slow speed as well while firing a shockwave of 10 silver shields.

Fifth Phase 25%

Taunt: “I cannot die like this! The ascended one will not allow it surely!”

DP-127 continues his previous phase patterns, on top of firing spectral pain daggers to the farthest player. It will stop following players however, instead going to the center of the room and becoming armor broken and weakened.

Sixth Phase 10%

Taunt: “Iiahe Y’ Y’ ah’mglw’nafh nogephaii l’ mgn’ghft ot yogfm’ll. Mg ymg’ ah’legeth ephaiuh’eor mgr’luh syha’h ah’li!”

(AS I DIE I RETURN TO THE LIGHT OF THE STARS. YET YOU FOOLS WILL ONLY SEE ETERNAL TORTURE!)

DP-127 will pull out all stops at this point, firing Giant essence stars in all directions, killing it is top priority to prevent a potential wipe. This phase will continue until death.

Taunt: “I was about to lose hope that no one was going to stop that dangerous fellow.”

Taunt: “I am Garvol, my liege’s eyes and ears in the realm, or was.”

Taunt: “But there is little time for introductions. We must hurry to the testing wing of this facility.”

Taunt: "I’ll explain everything once we get there. For now, continue onwards, but do be warry of the metallic fellows past this post. The situation has gotten quite dire now.

Garvol will crawl into one of the holes and disappear, leaving you to proceed onwards into the Clean up Wing of the Monolith.

And that’s all for the Engineering Quarters!

Now that I’ve gotten to the halfway point of this mega dungeon, I would to see some of your guys’ feedback on what could be improved. I’ll leave a little poll here as well to gauge the overall response.

What do you think of the dungeon so far?

  • .A (Absolutely Fantastic)
  • .B (Good, but needs a few tweaks)
  • .C (Alright, but could be better)
  • .D (Nest level of quality)
  • .F (Terrible idea)
  • .Alphabet Soup

#16

Currently main thing that bothers me is lack of outlines and inconsistent background colors, making it harder to make out what are the sprites supossed to be.

#17

Thanks for that, I’ll go through the current sprites and increase the contrast between pixels to make its easier to see.

  • Fixed Engineering Quarter sprites, they don’t have the black background anymore and are much more dark.

  • Fixed Technology Center sprites, same as above.

  • Fixed Entrance Sprites, Same as first point.

  • Last but not least, fixed Event Boss sprites Same as first point.

  • Keeping portals the same tho

I am overall happier with these new darker sprites than the originals, as even I couldn’t see much sometimes lol. So I’ll remember to not go ham on the light or dark colors from now on.

As for outlines I can’t really do that since I’m using piskel to draw them, but I’ll see what I can do once this thing is completely done.

#18

I’m gonna begin posting the next part in the line up soon, but I’ll leave the poll up so people can still vote  .

General Compromised Unit Behavior

Compromised units will not wander around for long if nothing is in range, instead they will simply go into a corpse like state. However, they are quite relentless with their targets and will throw any form of strategy and care very little for their own lives. they will also attack un-compromised units, making the battle field very messy and dangerous for rushing.

#24

Part two of the Monolith: Clean Up and Recycling

The Monolith: Clean up and Recycling

Layout

Players will spawn in the center of a giant circular chamber and must activate 4 switches (colored in ark yellow) to open the northern door (colored in dark yellow). There is acid tiles (colored in lime green) littered around the switches that deal 35 damage per second if you step in them.

Compromised and un-Compromised units will be randomly placed in the pathways to activate the switches, which will of course makes navigating and potential rushing a cluster fuck.

Upon spawning, A.S.S will announce one of its final warnings in the dungeon.

Taunt: “BREACH DECTECTED IN CONTROL ROOM, ALL UNITS PLEASE EXCERIS-E-EAAAAAAAAA”

[ A.S.S is mega deddo now :((( ]

Pretty much just the very first part of the dungeon on a larger scale. Just activate all the switches and go back to the main room and go to fight the boss. Optionally, you can clear all compromised units in the dungeon, which would result in the boss becoming debuffed and easier to defeat.

Path to boss

Once all switches have been activated (and optionally all compromised units were slain) the yellow door north of spawn will open and the boss will be available.

That’s about it for part 2, I’m experimenting with making the layout portion it’s own post, mainly to stop cluttering and all that. Part 3 will be up in around 50 years.

  • Damage: 55
  • Speed: 3

Behavior

Once you enter the large rectangular room, Scrap heap will wait 5 seconds before starting the battle. “A.S.S” will also taunt before the battle begins.

Taunt: " Ah, so you’re the ‘heroes’ that defeated my acolyte DP-127. No matter, I’ve revived him with some of the spare parts on this wing, though he does look a little agonized doesn’t he?"

First Phase 100% HP

Taunt: “P-P–AAAAIIN”

Scrap heap begins the phase with shooting essence daggers at the farthest players while wandering at sporadic but slow speed. It will periodically shoot 3 essence bolts at the closest players during this phase.

Second Phase 50% HP

“A.S.S” Taunt: " ha HA. Come now DP-127, don’t tell me you’re giving up already? the fight just started."

Taunt: “zzrtttt- zt”

Scrap Heap stops moving and will fire Giant Essence stars in a circular pattern and will be vulnerable during this. Scrap heap will also glow purple before he launches shockwaves of essence bolts and daggers which can be fatal if players are too close to him. This will continue until death

Death

Upon dying, “A.S.S” will announce this:

Taunt: “HA HA-HHH- A. ha- apologies- haha, I knew you’d be able to defeat him, I just wanted to see him squirm before his existence was snuffed out.”

Taunt: “I thank you for the laugh. But you will not be able to easily defeat me, ‘heroes’.”

Taunt: “So come down to the testing wing, if you have the stones that is.”

After around 10 seconds, the doors north of the boss room will open and lead to the elevator room.

Garvol: “The word you’re looking for humans, my good friend. And yes, I do know the exact number, but we have little choice I’m afraid.”

Garvol: “If that nasty fellow is allowed to escape, it won’t stop at the shores of the realm. We’ll have a lot more than a few hundred bodies to worry about then.”

YL-4: “…”

YL-4: “Fine, but on one exception.”

YL-4: “you ‘heroes’ need to help cleanse the testing wing of all the compromised units, as we’ll need the full strength of whatever operational units are left in storage.”

YL-4: “And do not hesitate to slay them, whatever sentience they held in their coding has long been expunged, they are merely corpse puppets used by that thing now.”

YL-4: “The automated security system will also have to be dealt with, once the path is clear of compromised units.”

Garvol: “Good luck then heroes, and happy hunting!”

The testing wing portal will appear, Garvol and YL-4 will proceed to enter it, leaving you to continue onwards.

Layout

Players spawn in the bottom center of the map, and will need to clear the rooms of all compromised units in the area. Un compromised units will also spawn in the starting room to accompany players through the dungeon, but also can be found while clearing.

“A.S.S” Will comment on the players’ appearance this far into the dungeon.

Taunt: “So eager to meet your demise, like a moth to the flame.”

Path to Boss

Once all rooms have been cleared of compromised units, the door to the giant chamber (colored in dark red) will open. It’s wise to stock up on hp/mp pots at this point so you don’t get mega deddo.

Working on part three so expect it to be ready in about 86 days I guess.

Soul Stealer Staff

One of the rods attached to the compromised Security System. The Pure evil emanating from it isn’t of the void entity, but of something more malignant. Whatever properties it holds are neither good for the target nor the user.

  • Tier: UT
  • Shots: 1
  • Damage: 100-200 (Average: 150)
  • Projectile Speed: 18
  • Range: 7.5
  • Fire Rate: 90%
  • Special Properties: killing enemies will restore 5% of the user’s HP
  • Stat Bonus: -75 HP, -7 DEF, +3 ATT, +3 WIS

Dagger of Pure Evil

A rather peculiar weapon created from pure evil. Although it retains the corrupting properties of pure evil, the effect has been watered down and is much less effective. The weapon also shrouds the user in a vile coating, making them resilient to corrupting forces.

  • Tier: UT
  • Shots: 2
  • Arc Gap: 18
  • Amplitude: 0.5
  • Frequency: 1
  • Damage: 75-165 (Average: 120)
  • Projectile Speed: 12
  • Range: 4.9
  • Fire Rate: 100%
  • Special Properties: Pure Evil will deal 50% less damage, and the user will be immune to sick while the weapon is equipped.
  • Stat Bonus: -50 HP, -5 ATT, +3 DEX, +3 DEF

We’re on the final stretch my friends, and the last part of this is a doozy. And believe me, it’s gonna get real interesting and weird.

Part two of the Monolith: ground Zero

The Monolith: Ground Zero

Layout

all that stands between you and the final boss of the monolith is a burnt metal wall. upon spawning, garvol and YL will fill you in on the plan.

Garvol: “Glad to see you made it heroes, fortunately while you were hacking away at those fellows upstairs, we were able to perfect out plan to get rid of that monster once and for all.”

YL-4: “The magika we’ve refined will grant you enough power to slay the calamity, but at a price.”

YL-4: “Our device requires a long wound up, and large amounts of energy. So you’ll have to stall the calamity until it’s charged.”

YL-4: “If this fails, then all of the realm will be lost.”

Garvol: “No pressure on you though my fine fellows, just think of it like squashing cubes, who’re trying to consume your soul.”

The door will open, and allow for the final encounter in the monolith. Allied units will spawn within the boss room, so theres that aswell.

Part 3 coming soon :3

Bro this dungeon is cool but i think its a little longer than the average realm players attention span. By the time they get to the end, everyone would have died or nexused and the few people who make it prob would be pretty tired. Ur floor maps remind me of LH although the idea of allies is something interesting to explore. Also, the idea of having secondary passive effects on non ability items is cool but the balancing is going to have to be good. Either way, focus on the dungeon before the loot. You’ve got some good stuff here, keep it coming and maybe DECA might contact u…

This is my feedback:

Dungeon design: I would wager this content would be irrelevant to the vast majority of players. Deeper parts would be inaccessible to some portion of those who would want it by causing too many clients to crash before finishing if encountered naturally or to those using a computer that is low on accessible memory.
The aesthetic you are going for is alright, but contrasts really hard against everything else that exists in the game, barring the most recent april fools dungeon, which should not be taken seriously. You may say there is no harm in adding one dungeon that clashes like this, but it is a very slippery slope.

Drops: Absolutely horrifically poorly balanced.
Orb: Solo perma daze: no, never. Solo perma daze in a 3 tile radius: are you shitposting me?
Speedy armor: every melee getting free perma speedy? Not horrific or gamebreaking, still a bad idea.
Scythe katana: not even busted. Kudos.
UT Seal: if this were introduced right now it would be the most overpowered single item in the game, easy-- the degree to which would depend on the magnitude of the “DEX” bonus provided.
Assuming this behaves in the way temporary dex boosts already do and you are not planning a rework of a fundamental game mechanic that has never changed, having multiple paladins with this seal spamming a DPS boost to the entire group that stacks with 1) itself 2) effusions 3) damaging 4) berserk while also providing perma armor and healing to the paladin using it is actually, unironically, the most broken item proposal I have heard in a long long time.
Robe: not broken, but definitely a top-shelf robe and makes many others irrelevant by a large margin. Again, power creep warning.
Prism: busted enough to make solo trick the highest DPS functional solo class in the game with exception of an optimal set warrior getting the curse bee, while already being the best rusher. The degree to which this is broken depends, again, on the magnitude of the dex bonus, but it’s still broken.

That is all
