Enchanter

The Enchanter resides in north-east side of the Vault, above the Wardrobe. Players can interact with them to open the Enchanting Interface.

The Enchanter allows players to Unlock Engraving slots, or to Reroll and upgrade enchantments.

Key Description
1 Item List - Every item that can be enchanted will appear here. Only items from your worn inventory or backpack will be displayed. This means that Vault and gift chest items will not appear, nor will items on your other characters. The currently selected item will highlight blue, as shown here.
2 Filters - Allow quick filtering and/or searching between enchantable items (both, tiered, and untiered).
3 Dust Capacity - Shows your current and maximum dust capacity for each type of dust
Green DustRed DustPurple Dust. Each type has an initial maximum capacity of 2000 which can be further increased with dust capactity upgrades.
4 Slots - Shows what enchantment/engraving is currently on the item.
5 Enchantments - The costs of Rerolling, Upgrading enchantments, or unlocking/applying an engraving for UTs are shown here.

Dusts

Dusts are type of currency that are used in the enchantment process. Currently, There are 3 types of dust in the game.

Green Dust (Green Dust) Used for rerolling enchantments.
Red Dust (Red Dust) Used for upgrading enchantments. Drops from difficulty 6+ dungeons
Purple Dust (Purple Dust) Used for unlocking Engraving slots for UTs. Drops from Exalt dungeons & Wine Cellar

Dust is gained upon completion of a dungeon, and type and amount of dust corresponds to the difficulty of the dungeon completed. Seasonal Characters receive 15% more dust.

The ability to use red and purple dust in the enchanter must first be bought for 500 Red Dust and 250 Purple Dust respectively.

Engravings

Untiered Items do not have the ability to recieve regular enchantments, instead, they are able to recieve Engravings, which are a special variant of enchantments tailored to a specific set of UTs using a special engraving item, dropped from Advance dungeons. Shiny variants of items can be also be engraved, assuming that the base item has a possible engraving.

To Engrave a UT, the engraving slot must first be unlocked for 1750 Purple Dust (Purple Dust), after which, any engraving that the UT can recive can be applied free of charge. Be warned, applied Engravings CAN NOT be undone.

Below is the current list of Engravings, and the items it can be applied to.

History

  • This mechanic was first described in the April 16th, 2021 Producer’s Letter, said to be released in 2021, but due to balance-related issues, the concept was scrapped and forgotten about.
  • Enchanting came back a year later, reworked and rebalanced, and after a few sessions on the Testing Server, was finally introduced (partially) in Exalt Version 3.4.1.0 (July 2023).
  • Exalt Version 3.4.1.0 (July 2023) introduced the Enchanter, Kogbold Engraving Collection, and MotMG 2023 Engraving Collection.
  • Exalt Version 4.0.0.0 (Aug 2023) introduced tiered equipment enchanting and the Advanced Nest collection. However, the Advanced Nest collection wasn’t available till August 15, 2023, coinciding with the proper release of the Advanced Nest. In that version, Green Dust also started dropping in every Exaltation dungeon.
  • Exalt Version 4.1.0.0 (Dec 2023) Enchantments were overhauled due to community feedback, going from a open slot based system in which players had to pay dust to upgrade, to a more random system, which removed the upgrade costs, but made item enchantments more random in nature

Trivia

  • Items dropped prior to Exalt Version 3.4.1.0 (July 2023) won’t have any enchantment slots available.
  • The Enchanter uses a sprite resembling Daevas from MotMG 2021.
  • Unobtainable Engravings from the Enchantment rework such as Onhit Invisible have the “Engraved” gear prefix.
