Chases players while firing converging bursts of icy swirls or dense shotguns of ice boomerangs. If it remains alive for long enough, it’ll stop, flash, and summon an Ice Sphere before continuing its attack.
The Ice Mage will periodically re-summon its Ice Sphere whenever its old one self-destructs.
The Accursed variant behaves more aggressively, but otherwise acts the same. When killed, it will turn into a cursed grave that will resurrect it after a period of time.

Paralyzing the Ice Mage will also stop the movement of its Ice Sphere despite it being immune (since it always follows its master’s position), which can be useful to keep the dangerous hazard in one place.
For its regular attack phase, simple back-stepping will allow you to dodge all of his boomerang attacks and deal heavy damage, if not outright killing him. Beware of running into the projectiles though, as they are fired in very large numbers and can kill you very quickly if you eat a large number of them at once.
During the second phase you must remain aware of the movements of the Ice Sphere. If you allow it to sit on you for even a moment, it will deal heavy damage, or outright kill you. Stay moving at all times and be particularly wary of hallways. Refer to the Ice Sphere page for more details on dealing with them.
Before Exalt Version 2.0.2.0 (Aug 2021), the Ice Mage was called the Forgotten Ice Mage. It had different attacks, different drops, no accursed variant, and the following sprite:
