How to Find the Third Dimension

Cube God
The Third Dimension is a guaranteed drop from the Cube God, an event god.

The Third Dimension Key (Third Dimension Key) can also be purchased in the Nexus for 150 Realm Gold.

The Cube God is only spawned once enough Heroes of Oryx have been defeated. Once done, the Cube God spawns randomly in the realm, ranging from the Midlands to the Godlands. The many minions can be overwhelming, so it is best to bring a class that can pierce multiple targets or tank a lot of damage. Knights are great for inflicting Gold Five Pointed Star Stunned on the Cube God himself, along with tanking the shots from the minions. Tricksters can also decoy the Cube God’s shotgun away from the group. Rogues can turn Invisible close to the Cube God, although this is very risky. The Cube God can be especially difficult to deal with if it spawns within a fresh Godlands, as the combination of the boss’s natural crowd of minions and the various surrounding gods can make things very hard to deal with. It is best to clear all the gods as soon as possible. Upon death, the Cube God drops the poratl to The Third Dimension.

Loot and Purpose

Shadow Serpent Sidearm
The Shadow Serpent Sidearm is a fairly damaging and unique wakizashi. Instead of shooting from the side, this ability shoots out a delayed acclerating stream of square shots that inflict Grey Down Arrow Exposed and deal 700 damge on average, all shooting straight from your character. This wakizashi allows the Samurai better aim on his ability. However, due to the delayed accleration of the shots, it is best to use on mobile targets that move towards you, either following you or in a set pattern.

Cloak of Cubic Enigma
The Cloak of Cubic Enigma is a unique cloak with a short Invisiblity time of 4.5 seconds, making it unideal for stealth. However, the cloak also activates a burst attack every 0.6 seconds for 6 seconds dealing 400 damage each. This totals to 10 bursts dealing 400 damage each, or 4,000 damage total, presuming all the bursts land. This can be a great cloak for dealing damage to enemies you can get close to or when crowd clearing.

Seal of Cubic Conundra
The Seal of Cubic Conundra has worse Red Cross Healing and Sword Damaging effects than most seals. However, it sacrifices this for the ability to inflict Red Down Arrow Slowed on enemies for 4 seconds within 3.5 tiles, and increasing it with WisMod. This is a great support seal for slowing crowds of enemies or bosses, especially if solo and there aren’t any other Slowing characters nearby.

Rainbow PotionsPotion of Mana
This dungeon is a good source of rainbow potions from its various bosses, along with a Potion of Mana from the 2nd boss.

Layout and Navigation

Example Layout:

Third Dimension Layout

The Third Dimension has a layout similar to that of the Sprite World, albeit much larger and elaborate. The spawn area is a diamond shaped room with four destructible rectangular pillars. There are various square rooms with small cube shaped insignia throughout. Thin, diamond shaped hallways connect groups of rooms. The occasional four split leading into the four cardinal directions that appear right after the spawn room and the first boss room. Both the teleporters and the Treasure Room will look similar, except the Treasure room won’t contain the four pillars.

Similar to the Sprite World, navigation can be made easier when playing on a class that can teleport, such as the Trickster or a Rogue with the Cloak of the Planewalker, as there are open spaces between rooms with no hallways. However, teleporting may be less beneficial as the rooms and hallways aren’t as closely grouped together as in the Sprite World. Boss rooms can be reached via teleporters at the end of pathways. Note that boss rooms are normally located above teleporters, so attempt to search for teleporters at the end of a pathway close to the bottom of where the boss is located.

Enemies

WIP

Cuboids

Cuboid MatriarchCuboid RogueCuboid TricksterCuboid Paladin
The Cuboids are a group of enemies all spawned mainly by the Cuboid Matriarch, which is why they are grouped together. The Cuboid Rogues, Cuboid Tricksters, and Cuboid Paladins on their own aren’t that difficult. However, the real trouble begins when they get near a Cuboid Matriarch, or are spawned by it. If they get close to the Cuboid Matriarch, or if the Shadow Cube Blaster has been defeated, the Cuboid Rogues, Tricksters, and Paladins become squared (funny I know). This is a recurring mechanic among most minions. When an enemy becomes squared, it enlarges itself and uses new attacks. Be careful near the Cuboid Matriarchs, as they Slow and can make it harder to run from chasing enemies. As for the rest of the minions, simply drag them around and damage them, as they all fire many shots.

Elemental Cubes

Lesser Cube GodFire Cube OverseerLightning Cube DefenderIce Cube Blaster
The Elemental Cubes are a group of minions based off of three elements: Fire, Lightning, and Ice. The Lesser Cube God is the leader of the group. Similarly to the Cuboids, any of the smaller minions that approach the Lesser Cube God will become squared, becoming stronger. Fire Cube Overseers inflict Gold Four Pointed Star Armor Broken, Lightning Cube Defenders inflict Paralyzed Icon Paralyzed, and Ice Cube Blasters inflict Red Down Arrow Slowed. Also similarly to the Cuboids, try to avoid them as much as possible, especially the smaller minions, as their effects can be devastating to mobility and survivability.

Bosses

The Third dimension has two main bosses, excluding the treasure room boss. The second boss is found after defeating the first.

First Boss

Shadow Cube Blaster

Shadow Cube Blaster
The Shadow Cube Blaster is the first boss of the Third Dimension. It is an enormous serpent-like creature consisting of cube segments, a tail end made up of 5 small cubes, and a large cube head with an inner square resembling an eye. The boss is accompanied by the Shadow Cube Defender, a small pair of cubes stacked on one another.

Phase 1

The boss will initally remain Mithril Shield Invulnerable, simply slithering around and through the intercardinal directions of the arena while firing occasional shots giving Red Down Arrow Slowed from its segments and a purple shot from its head. Meanwhile, the Shadow Cube Defender will become vulnerable and shoot out spreads of armor piercing shots. Defeating the Shadow Cube Defender is required to progress the fight. The Shadow Cube Defener alternates between two attacks:

  • Firing shots in the top left and bottom right, then top right and bottom left, and vice versa.
  • Shooting in the four cardinal and intercardinal directions with gaps in the directions it is not shooting.

Attempt to move into the gaps between the spreads of shots, and avoid the Shadow Cube Blaster as it slithers by. You can preempt its travel into the middle of the arena by watching out for a single harmless shot coming from one of the room’s corners. Once reaching 50% HP, the Shadow Cube Defender continues its same cycle of attacks, albeit at much shorter intervals. Upon defeat, the Shadow Cube Defender Transforms into the invulnerable Shadow Cube Overseer. It has similar attacks, only the shots no longer armor pierce, but instead Curse Curse, along with being smaller and faster attacks.

Phase 2

After the transformation of the Shadow Cube Defender into the Shadow Cube Overseer, the Shadow Cube Blaster itself will finally become vulnerable, somewhat. Its head will remain Mithril Shield Invulnerable, but its body segments will become vulnerable, requiring you to kill off its body in order to damage the head. You must first damage the lighter colored segments and the tail end. Once those are defeated, the darker body segments of the boss will become vulnerable, allowing you to finally destroy the Shadow Cube Blaster’s body. Throughout this entire phase, the boss will continue the same attacks from before.

Phase 3

With the rest of its body destroyed, the head of the Shadow Cube Blaster moves to the middle of the room right on top of the Cube Overseer. It will then move to one of the four cardinal directions and begin rotating clockwise around the inner edges of the room, all the while chomping. The Shadow Cube Blaster will alternate between two new attacks:

  • Simultaneously shooting radial barrages of shots and aimed shots towards players along with detonating AOE attacks on itself.
  • Summoning delayed purple crosshairs on players before creating highly damaging explosive shockwaves in the four cardinal directions.

It is best to keep your distance from the Shadow Cube Blaster and damage it while running along the edges with it. The shockwave attack should be fine as it is a delayed attack and will most likely spawn far behind you. However, the actual shots from the Shadow Cube Blaster are more dangerous, as they also slow you, making it easier for the boss to run you over. Note that the Shadow Cube Overseer will continue to attack throughout this phase until the boss is defeated. Upon death, the Shadow Cube Blaster will drop its loot, the Shadow Cube Overseer will despawn, and the path to the four split leading to the second boss will appear behind the first boss room.

Second Boss

Tesseract Goddess

Tesseract Goddess
The Tesseract Goddess is the second and final boss of the Third Dimension. The boss is a small, light blue cube, with what appears to be a core, and four smaller cubes that make up her corners. It is much smaller than the first boss, but still presents a difficult battle. The boss lies within the middle of the room, completely stationary, at least for now. As a player approches her, she will give the following dialogue: “Though you may have destroyed my shadow, you are no match for my multi-dimensional strength.”

Phase 1

Taunt: “You’ll be short work for my fragments! Your weapons mean nothing against me as long as they’re sustaining my barrier.”
The Tesseract Goddess throws out its four fragments, staying Mithril Shield Invulnerable as the fragments attack. The fragments move in a set pattern diagonally clockwise around the middle area of the room. They will also shoot simple two way slowing shots aimed at the player. Meanwhile, the Tesseract Goddess herself will rapidly detonate AOE bursts on itself, while also throwing the occasional pink Silenced Silenced bomb at the nearest player. With every fragment defeated, they will return to the boss, Square Ether will begin covering the room, limiting your movement, and the Tesseract Goddess will slowly gain new attacks:

  • If one fragment has been defeated, the boss will shoot in the four cardinal directions, occasionally only shooting in two of them opposite of once another. All of these laser-like attacks are telegraphed by a harmless single shot before the actual attack.
  • If two fragments have been defeated, the boss will occasionally shoot out six lasers in a sort of fan pattern, while also attacking faster.
  • If three fragments have been defeated, the boss will now shoot out eight lasers non-stop simulatneously, while upgrading its occasional two way attack to 14 lasers.

Pay attention to the telegraphs of the boss, as it can allow you to prepare for the attack in advance. Try rotating with the fragments in order to continuosly deal damage. Also, never sit on the boss, as not only will she shoot out many shots, but her AOE attack is very damaging. It is also important to deal with the fragments as soon as possible, as the boss’s attacks can become hectic very quickly.

Taunt: “My fragments could not have been disabled so easily!”
Once all four fragments have been defeated, the boss will continue her same attacks, but remove her pink Silenced Silenced bomb. She will continue this until she is pushed to the next phase.

Phase 2

Taunt: “Steel yourselves! My cubytes will reduce you to nothing for your transgressions against the Mad God.”
With her fragments defeated, the Tesseract Goddess will spawn four Cubytes, this time with new attacks. The cube fragments will slowly rotate clockwise and begin slowly shooting two way tentacles of shots both inwards and outwards of the room. The fragments then speed up and shoot out rapidly. The boss meanwhile will occasionally shoot out a pink bomb that inflicts Silenced Silenced towards the nearest player. Your goal now is to rotate with the Cubytes and damage them in order to get to the next phase. As a Cubyte loses HP, it slowly shoots slower until only shooting everyone couple of seconds. This can allow you to quickly move to another Cubyte and damage them sequentially. Once all the Cubytes are defeated, they will shrink and slowly disappear.

Phase 3

With all of her Cubytes defeated, the Square Ether in the room will disappear, and the Tesseract Goddess will disappear. She will then reappear in one of the eight corners of the arena, travelling straight through the middle of the room and into the opposite end, before reappearing at a different corner. While travelling through the room, the Tesseract Goddess will shoot perpendicular to her movement, with small gaps in between the shots, and also simultaneously throwing out light blue bombs on her location. During this, a clone of the boss will also appear, attacking very similarly. There are many ways to tell them apart however. The clone will be Wooden Shield Armored, have less HP, pause periodically while attacking, and throw out much smaller bombs. Due to the clone pausing while shooting, it can become easier to move into the gaps between shots. Try to follow the boss and damage her while she travels through the arena. Avoid standing behind her in order to dodge the blue bombs. Finally, don’t sit on the corners, where the boss or clone will spawn.

Phase 4

Tesseract Goddess Cronus Form

Taunt: “Imperfections such as you so-called heroes must be eradicated.”
“You misshapen miscreants will perish in the lower dimensions, having lost all form!”

Once pushed enough, the Tesseract Goddess will despawn her clone, and will teleport back to the middle of the room. She will reappear instead colored red and purple, similarly to the Dirk of Cronus, and begin repeating her phases prior, this time much harder. She will repeat her first phase, spawning her fragments, but they will instead circle counterclockwise and will shoot much faster. Instead of Square Ether, Cronus Ether will flood the corners of the room, and will not disappear until the very end of the battle. Finally, the boss herself will gain attacks twice as fast, gaining all of them at two fragments instead of all four. Use the same strategies as for Phase 1. Rotate with the fragments and watch out for the telegraphs to preempt the attacks.

Taunt: “My fragments have failed me yet again!”
Destroying all the fragments once again removes the Tesseract Goddess’ invulnerability.

Phase 5

Taunt: “But my cubytes have returned stronger than ever!”
The Tesseract Goddess will respawn her Cubytes, which are also colored after the Dirk of Cronus. Similarly to the Cubytes from Phase 2, they will slowly shot and slowly rotate, although this time counterclockwise, before speeding up and shooting tentacles rapidly. Meanwhile, the boss will throw a pink bomb to the nearest player, instead inflicting not silence, but Word Bubble Quiet. Employ the same strategy as before. Rotate with the Cubytes and kill them off, and move to the next Cubyte by crossing tentacles quickly.

Phase 6

The Tesseract Goddess despawns her Cubytes and simply repeats Phase 3. Employ the same strategy as before, although now your movement is greatly limited by the presence of the Cronus Ether.

Phase 7

Taunt: “Look sharp! Your fate in the drifting void draws near!”
The Tesseract Goddess moves to the middle of the room and grows in size, before rapidly choosing between three random attacks:

  • Moving erratically around the edges of the room and shooting a messy omnidirectional barrage of slowing shots.
  • Diving at players before shooting eight lasers in a star shaped spoke pattern, while throwing both white bombs at players and shooting small white shots in between her dives.
  • Firing a four way rapid spiral of shots clockwise along with four rapid bursts of large squares inflicting Red Down Arrow Slowed, along with red Word Bubble Quiet bombs aimed at players, all while being stationary.

The boss will flash red before switching attacks, and become Wooden Shield Armored when attacking.

This phase is very hectic, as the boss moves around for a majority of her attacks. For her barrage of slowing shots, stay in the middle and damager her from afar. If you’re on a melee class, try to damage her while moving with her, but it can be very risky. Her diving attack is especially dangerous as she can easily instantly kill players if one does not react fast enough. Again, pay close attention to her telegraphs, then quickly move off of her location and dodge the lasers. Finally, for her rotation attack, it may be harder to rotate if she is in a corner or edge. In that case, stay afar and dodge in between the gaps, while also sidestepping the quieting bombs.

Defeat

Taunt: “Inconceivable! My perfection is unparalleled!”
Once the boss finally takes enough damage, she will shrink down in place before dying and dropping her loot, with the Cronus Ether also disappearing from the arena.

Overview

The Third Dimension is a fairly difficult event dungeon that can drop some useful UT’s and some potions. Try not to be a square!
