Jon Bilgewater the Pirate King (Rev. 7)

Jon Bilgewater was famously known for terrorizing many heroes of the sea. Oryx wanted him to rid of all pirates in the Realm, including Dreadstump. With news of The Pirate King, Dreadstump fled the realm and hid away. Until now, adventurous players have decided to fight back against the cruel, unforgiving, and deadly Jon Bilgewater.

Behavior

Protected by: minions
Jon has 2 Phases:

  • Phase 1: (Damage phase)
Capable of being damaged during this phase, birds spawn from four birdcages and circle them, occasionally attacking the player. Boss chases players and occasionally stops to fire a volley of cannonball shots that do massive damage and 'gold coins' that inflict confuse.
  • Phase 2: (Protect phase)
The boss heads to the center of the arena, while the evil water at the perimeter of the room begins to flood the outer edge of the arena. All the birds swarm the boss and protect him. Boss is invulnerable during this phase and is stun immune. Once the birds are killed, the boss remains stationary and fires 3 radial shotguns of cannonballs, after which the phase repeats.

Throughout the fight, the birds will continually heal the boss for large amounts of health.

Tips and Strategies

  • The cannonballs are extremely dangerous; do not try to tank them.
  • Beware of the confuse bullets, since they can lead you into his cannonballs.
  • Come to the boss with a lot of Hp and Mp pots, you'll need them.
  • Be careful when entering the boss room when other players have already entered as there is the possibility that the boss may be standing on the player spawn point while attacking, resulting in instant death of your character with little ability to react.
  • Ranged healing classes like the priest and necromancer are also good choices to consider as they can shoot the boss from afar and heal when needed.
  • It is possible to take minimal to no damage during the second phase of the fight by remaining still in certain positions of the arena (such as slightly to the left or right of the entry portal) while continuing to attack.
  • Huntresses are also useful here because their traps can AoE paralyze (or slow) pretty much all the parrots during circling, paralyze the boss, and of course, pierce.
  • The boss can be soloed by bow classes wielding a Doom Bow due to its consistent damage output and its piercing effect, outweighing the heals that the birds provide.
