The Void Emperor chases players at very high speed while firing all of its twenty-two projectiles. All of them are shot directly towards the nearest player.

This boss is, quite obviously, extremely overpowered. At the same time, however, it’s extremely easy to defeat - a solo player can simply circle around it (for upwards of 45 minutes) and slowly whittle it down.
Upon defeat, it would theoretically provide all eight Exaltations, though this is functionally impossible as its health is set to always stay above zero (an attribute normally used for enemies that self-destruct) and it humorously has the “Resurrection” attribute (from the old Amulet of Resurrection) which doesn’t actually have an effect on enemies.
The “Dead” status effect on the Emperor Vortex shot does not exist, so the shot simply deals 1 damage, making it by-far the least dangerous attack in the boss’ arsenal.
This boss was created for the 2022 ARG and exists solely to troll dataminers.
It has a large number of alternate sprites defined, which it never actually uses:
Resprites of Lord Ruthven, Ghost of Skuld, Bes, Nut, Geb, and The Forgotten King, then versions of those same bosses with void replacing their “body”.
The game files also contain versions of these bosses “fading” from their old sprites to their new sprites, but these are not referenced by any enemies.
It is now known that these sprites exist solely to hide that the King resprite was used for the ending of the Chess puzzle, where he appears to announce the date of the Shatters rework. Interestingly, the sprite used in the Shatters itself is not the above sprite.
The Void Emperor now serves as the “boss” of The Inner Workings, holding all of its Dungeon Modifier data for safekeeping.
