Mixcoatl the Masked God

Last updated: Exalt Version 1.6.2.0 (June 2021)
Mixcoatl the Masked God

Mixcoatl the Masked God is the boss of the Forbidden Jungle. As a low level boss, he’s fairly easy for people at level 10+ with basic equipment so long as you don’t sit on him or the totem poles around him.

The Realm Eye says:
Mixcoatl is a god of the hunt. When tribes arrived in his jungle, they were in awe of his hunting prowess and followed him with fierce loyalty.
Adopting both his hunting techniques and his iconic mask, Mixcoatl strongly influenced the culture of these developing tribes.

Behavior

Phase 1:
He wanders around the room he is in. Any damage done to him will make him go into his next phase.

Phase 2:
He runs to the middle of the boss room and does some form of ritualistic dance. During this time, he cannot be damaged. During this phase, the Boss Totems in the room will spawn Totem Spirits.

Phase 3:
Mixcoatl will randomly select one of these two attack patterns, and randomly alternate between them:
Pattern 1 - He shoots fireballs at the closest player.
Pattern 2 - He will shoot walls of Mask Powershot in a spiral around him.
Once the phase is over, he will return to the middle of the boss room and go back to Phase 2.

Phase 4: When enough damage is dealt (approximately 50% of his HP), Mixcoatl moves back to the center of the room. He and the Boss Totems will shoot out concentric circles of projectiles.

Phase 5: He then will charge at the nearest player, firing blasts of concentric circles similar to that of the pillars. He will also occasionally shoot his spiral pattern shots.

Tips and Strategies

Mixcoatl is quite easy to kill. If you are a long range character, you will have almost no trouble with him; however, melee characters may take a bit of damage in the fight. At the first stage, if you are a ranged character, you can reach Mixcoatl while outside the room that he stands in. Melee characters may have a bit more trouble here, and they should defeat the ghosts that he summons nearest to them just before Mixcoatl’s invulnerability wears off, while also dodging his attacks.

The second phase is a bit more dangerous, but is also quite simple. The totems will spray fire around the room, making it a pain to hit Mixcoatl while he is in his room, so lure him out of his room, outside the range of the towers. If you are a melee class, like a Knight, you can tank his attacks until he leaves the room. Ranged classes can draw him out slowly while avoiding the totem’s attacks, attacking him to get his attention then fighting him as normal when out of the range of the totems. If Mixcoatl sits on you during this phase, you’ll take a good amount of damage, so always keep moving.
