Behavior

Both guardians start out at the head of the room as statues. When either one is hit, they will both activate in 3-5 seconds and go into a random attack phase. After each phase, they will choose another phase at random until at least one stone Guardian dies. However, some phases may be done together while some are done individually.

The Guardians are backed up by 10 unique respawning Haunted Armors that may sometime join the fight if activated.

After one Guardian dies, the other will regenerate all of its health and begin attack phase #6. The guardian will then randomly alternate between phases #1-5, but will always go into attack phase #6 between the random phase until it is dead.

Note that if the amount of people in the castle is large enough, the Guardians will begin to regenerate.

  • Transition Phase:
Done in between phases. The Guardians wander around, firing radial bursts of small white bullets.
  • Attack phase #1:
The Guardians spin around in the center of the room shooting out spirals of bullets.
  • Attack phase #2:
The Stone Guardians stand on opposite sides of the room and fire 2 streams of bullets that sweep the room before converging on the center.
  • Attack phase #3:
The Stone Guardians stand in the middle of the room facing away from each other and fire large shotguns of superblasts in opposite directions.
  • Attack phase #4:
The Guardians circle the middle of the room, firing pairs of bullets along the cardinal directions.
  • Attack Phase #5:
The Guardians quickly chase players while firing wide shotguns of bullets.
  • Attack phase #6:
Stands at the Guardian’s spawn point and launches a golden grenade at the center platform. The grenade spawns a stone sword that shoots out alternating waves of horizontal, vertical, and diagonal paralyzing bullets. These bullets will paralyze you long enough to be hit by the next bullet and standing on the sword is instant death, except in some cases if you are a Priest or a Knight. After the sword is destroyed, it shoots bullets in all directions and launches a bomb at the Guardian, causing area damage around them. This attack can only be used if only 1 Guardian is alive.

In addition, sometimes the Guardians are known to launch barrages of close-ranged bombs at nearby players.

After both Stone Guardians are dead, a portal to Oryx’s Chamber will spawn in the center of the room.

Tips and Strategies

For most of the Guardians attack phases their bullets are easy to see so you should have no problem dodging them. They all do a decent amount of damage, so just keep a safe distance, dodge and you’ll be fine.

Waiting to ensure a group is at the Stone Guardians’ room to attack them is recommended as it will significantly speed up the fight because they have massively high defense and very high health.
Be sure not to stand on the spot where the stone guardians spawn the stone guardian sword if you are caught on it it will kill you unless you nexus.

Tips and Strategies

For Winter 2016-17, the two Stone Guardians were recolored to fit an icy theme, and the floor of their room was turned into ice tiles.
