The Crystal Entity is the boss of the Crystal Cavern and the final boss of the Abandoned Mineshaft.

The mystifying Crystal Entity rests deep in the realm’s mantle, surrounded by precious stones of incomprehensible value. The superstitious mushroom tribes worship it as a god of life, nurturing the fungal dwellers and promising the strength of flawless crystals to those who aid it. The true nature of its existence is unclear, but it does indeed posess the power to construct sentient crystal servants mimicking the form of organic life. |

The Crystal Entity is found in a massive circular room that is initially blocked off by unbreakable blocks. In order to access the boss, players must find and break 25 Cavern Crystals scattered throughout the Crystal Cavern in order to power up the drill present outside of the boss room. Once the drill is fully powered up, it will drill through the wall and open the way to the boss.
The Entity itself is situated in the center of a large pentagonal platform surrounded by water. When approached, it will activate, broadcasting taunts to signify its awakening.
“Come seeking treasures like the others? I’m afraid your efforts were in vain.”
“The perfect beauty of crystals is sought by all, it seems. How dare you consider yourselves more worthy than us?!”
Afterwards, the Entity teleports all players in the dungeon (within a certain distance) to its platform as deep water surrounds the platform, beginning the fight.
The Crystal Entity spawns one crystal guardian out of five. This guardian will follow its own behavior and attack players while the Entity itself alternates randomly between the following attacks:
The Crystal Entity is invulnerable for the entirety of the phase - players must target the crystal guardian that the Entity spawns. Once a guardian is slain, the Entity will taunt and spawn another one.
Second guardian spawns: “A guardian shall be prepared to cleanse this muck.”
Third guardian spawns: “Your very presence tarnishes this chamber!”
In total, three random guardians out of the five possible ones will be spawned during the battle - the battle will progress once all three have been defeated.
“You have forced our hand…”
“We have ascended!”
“You cannot…shatter…PERFECTION!”
The Entity grows in size and becomes vulnerable to damage. A large amount of Pulse Locks, which resemble red crystals, spawn around the arena, occasionally forming into red crystal shards and launching themselves at players. After launching, Pulse Locks will quickly reform - although they have a period after reforming where they cannot launch again, signified by them flashing blue.
In addition, Crystal Flowers will periodically start spawning around the arena - they start off as Crystal Buds, slowly chasing players while leaving a trail of slowing bullets behind, before eventually “flowering” and exploding into rings of crystal shards.
The Crystal Entity itself will continue using the attack patterns from before, but with greatly increased attack frequency. In addition, it gains two new patterns that can be fired simultaneously along any of its other attacks:
Every time it loses 33% of its HP, the Crystal Entity will briefly go invulnerable, and the bullets from the Pulse Locks will increase in speed and range. Any fractals being ready or already fired will also abruptly cancel.
This phase lasts until the Crystal Entity is killed. Upon its death, all Crystal Flowers and Pulse Locks vanish.
Spawns three random ones out of these 5 guardians every fight:
Crystallised Lizard
Crystallised Fish
Crystallised Monstrosity
Crystallised Cyclops
Crystallised Scorpion
The following refer to the boss itself, not its guardians.
This boss takes the bullet hell aspect of Realm to the extreme, so it is recommended to build up good dodging skills before taking it on. Because of the huge bullet density involved, faster classes may be detrimental, as the fight demands fairly precise dodging.
The most important part of the battle against the Crystal Entity itself is dodging its fractal attack. This attack incurs absolutely massive damage and is liable to instantly kill players caught in the full storm of bullets it creates. Keep the boss in your vision at all times, since the green arrow telegraphing the attack is a clear giveaway to dodge the fractal.
Its last phase is chaotic and oppressive, with projectiles coming from all directions, but panicking will often only make things worse. Divide the threats into four categories - fractal attacks, bullets from the Entity, bullets from the Crystal Flowers, and bullets from the Pulse Locks. Keep calm, keep an eye on the bigger picture instead of tunnel-visioning, and identify incoming threats, prioritizing them based on how dangerous they are at the moment. Slow and steady wins the race in this situation.
Before release 32.5.0, the Crystal Entity had the following sprite:
