Two game modes are available on Realm of the Mad God, Original and RIFTS. Original mode is always active, while RIFTS is a seasonal mode that may not always be available.
If no RIFTS season is running, pressing Play in the home screen opens Original mode. Otherwise, the game mode selection screen appears.
