This armor currently gives the largest defense boost out of any other leather armor, in exchange for just a slight amount of mobility. Because most leather armor classes have extremely high base speed stat, spare the Archer and Huntress, this penalty is negligible. Keep in mind, however, that Hydra Skin armor gives +5 dex, so using this armor is essentailly a -5 dex & -2 speed penalty in exchange for a +4 defense boost. Because of this, only use this armor if you’re not very concerned with DPS. Certainly not the best on Archer\Huntress because of the lack of a DEX modifier; however, it is godsend to Ninjas and dagger classes where the loss of DPS allows you to stay in range longer. This is also the only leather armor with a Fame Bonus of 6%
